4 Cool New Hair Products I Love

kerastase soin premier therapist

Because I need to start weeding out the hair products I don’t actually use and these products are actually AMAZING…

I, for one, am always skeptical about hair products.  It just seems like they always have some gimmick they’re promising that never actually pans out- “you’ll have the shiniest hair of your life!” Nope. Looks the same to me.  “You’ll get the sleekest, smoothest blow dry EVER!”  Um, not even close.  But every once in awhile I come across a few products that actually DO what they claim, and in a really unique way which, being honest, is pretty rare in a saturated hair care market.  Lately I’m loving these four:

Kerastase Soin Premier Therapiste: Adding one extra step is something I don’t take lightly but I tried this pre-shampoo and was SUPER IMPRESSED.  It basically works before you cleanse to properly protect and repair damaged, over-processed hair and also acts kind of like a band-aid to protect the hair’s fibers before you cleanse, which can sometimes cause breakage.

Joico hair shake

JOICO Hair Shake: Aside from generally just being fun to shake (it sounds like a spray paint can), I was honestly impressed with the new liquid-to-powder texturized.  It turns from a micro-fine mist (that amps up hair with touchable, velvety-soft, mega-volume) to a powder and you really only need a spray or two to get the effect.  I like to use this baby at my roots for a little volume after I blow dry, and it also works as a dry shampoo, natch.

lather avocado mint hair repair

LATHER Avocado Mint Hair Repair: Just when you think you’ve tried pretty much every product in a beauty line, you realize you missed one (and a good one, at that).  I recently went to a LATHER press event at their store in Pasadena and one of the girls told me that every sales girl who works at the store uses this stuff…now if that’s not a good testimonial, I don’t know what is.  So, ya, this product isn’t technically new but it’s new to me and I love it.

The deep-conditioning hair treatment provides intensive moisture therapy to restore strength and shine to dry or damaged hair. Avocado oil increases moisture retention and improves manageability, while peppermint and tea tree oils tone and stimulate the scalp, leaving hair and scalp feeling light and refreshed. Emollient shea butter, macadamia seed oil and jojoba oil help to lock moisture into hair and hydrate the scalp (SO important for hair health).

redken frizz dismiss

Redken Frizz Dismiss Smooth Force Lightweight Smoothing Lotion Spray: First off, I love that Redken created the Frizz Protection Factor scale (FPF, like SFP…get it?).  Second, it’s really great that a hair brand is finally realizing that they need to make frizz products specifically designed by hair type!  I, as a fine-haired girl, can’t use something that someone with super thick hair would use, and visa versa, so it only makes sense to create something like this lightweight smoothing lotion spray, which is perfect for FPF 20 and fine/medium hair.  As a bonus, it also protects your hair from heat styling damage!
