Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts That Give Back

gifts that give back

Because it’s far, far better to give than to receive…

Tis the season to give and I’m all about gifting beauty products that give back.  Here are just a few of my absolute favorites, all of which benefit various charities and non-profit organizations.

1// Flash Tattoos Sheebani:  A super cool line of unique henna-inspired temporary tattoos named after Sheebani, the orphan child who was the inspiration for the creation of the The Miracle Foundation. With intricate designs (take a look at how awesome the elephant is) and exotic vibes, the Sheebani collection – just like the girl and country it was inspired by – is quite easy to fall in love with. Wear the shimmering hand art, delicate bands and playful elephants anywhere, whether you’re doing yoga on your paddleboard or laying on the beaches of Bali.  Flash Tattoos donates 5% of the proceeds from each Sheebani collection purchase to The Miracle Foundation.

2// Shaveworks Pearl Souffle Luxurious Shave Cream: I’ve blogged about this shave cream before one, because I love it and two, because I love the fact that they donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of this product is donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The rich shave cream for her uses capislow to minimize the appearance of hair growth, phytic and glycolic acid to exfoliate and reduce ingrown hairs especially in the bikini area, and mediacalm complex, for superb moisturizing benefits.

3// Kiehl’s Hydration Essentials Limited Edition Costello & Tagliapietra collection: From these limited edition products, 100% of Kiehl’s net profits, up to $100,000, will provide 1,000,000 meals to families this holiday season through Feeding America. Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, whose mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks.

4// LUSH New Charity Pot: This lotion is the BEST.  With a new, delicately floral perfume of ylang ylang and rosewood oils in a hydrating cocoa butter base, the moisturizing Charity Pot will leave your skin subtly perfumed and touchably soft. This rich and generous cream now contains seven ingredients sourced from our sustainable SLush Fund projects around the world. With every purchase of Charity Pot, we donate 100% of the price (minus the taxes) to small, grassroots organizations working in the areas of environmental conservation, animal welfare and human rights.

5// Gratitude Collaborative & The Little Market Sweet Something Home: Truth be told, I’m obsessed with the Gratitude Collaborative’s gift baskets, so I was SUPER excited when they teamed up with The Little Market on this limited-quantity basket where 100% of the proceeds from this gift are donated to the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles.  All The Little Market local orders will be hand-delivered between December 14th – 22nd / All shipped orders will arrive before December 24th and they include a Little Market Basket, Divine Chocolate Bar, Striped Hand Towel, Little White Beaded Heart Ornament, Heart Wine Bottle Stopper, Original locally sourced bouquet of flowers, and a Little Market Basket.

6// Philosophy Amazing Grace Collection: FYI, Nordstrom is price matching, hence the cheaper price on this kit!  And, of course, 1% of ALL Philosophy sales goes towards community-based mental health efforts.  But the collection is one of my all-time favorites because it’s amazingly clean and beautifully feminine.  The products come wrapped in seasonal style and ready for gifting to yourself or someone you love.
