I put these two drugstore sunscreens to the test on a yacht in Thailand

Because I’m everyone’s favorite skincare guinea pig (and I love it)…

Like I mentioned back in March…I went to Thailand, and this SPF is the one thing you can’t forget to pack when you travel. And, of course, it was totally necessary while I was on a super yacht out in the waters of Phuket J I wanted to do a second post because if you followed along on social media then you know I applied both of Neutrogena’s sunscreens every two to three hours or so (or immediately after swimming or jet skiing) and I didn’t burn even one little bit.

Now you might be thinking “um, so what?” Well, even as someone who is obsessed with sunscreen I sometimes DO make mistakes. For example, I forget to reapply on time or even miss a patch of skin.  But not this time and I really think a big part of that was the fact that I’m v. into both of these formulas. Here’s why:

Neutrogena Sunscreen

ON MY FACE: Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer Dry Touch SPF 100. When it comes to my face I want as much SPF as possible which, for me, means SPF 100. The Ultra-Sheer line products are all super-fast absorbing and non-oily (i.e. great for all skin types!). They’re enriched with antioxidants and, best of all, non-shiny. As much as I like a little highlighter included in my makeup routine, I don’t typically like shine when I’m makeup-free, so this version is my go-to for face SPF.

ON MY BODY: Neutrogena HydroBoost Water Gel Lotion SPF 50. No one (including me) will tell you that you can’t wear the Ultra-Sheer SPF 100 on your body (or this version on your face!), but when the brand sent me their new HydroBoost sunscreen and I felt the formula, I knew this was going to be my body favorite. The formula is just HEAVEN. Like it truly feels the same as the most expensive body lotion you’ve ever tried thanks to the brand’s hyaluronic acid-based formulation.

Just like the Ultra-Sheer Dry Touch, it absorbs really fast but this formula has a water-light feel to it that makes it just super easy to apply and then reapply all day long. And like I said in my first post, it will actually also hydrate your skin for EIGHT full hours but that doesn’t mean that you don’t need to reapply (you do), but as far as hydration goes, you are covered…no body lotion will be required and I’m proof of that. It’s not goopy or greasy and I also like how healthy my always-pale-AF legs looked after I used it!
