The Best 3 Skincare Products I Found in Iceland

three skincare products I Found in Iceland

Because I went to Iceland and scoured for the best…

You probably read my post from the end of May where I talked about why Iceland is the ultimate beauty girl destination (if you haven’t, it’s a good motivator from booking a trip!), but I also wanted to do a separate post on three of my favorite skincare products I discovered on my trip as well.  Sure, I’m a little bias since I DID spend some time at the infamous Blue Lagoon, but that most certainly didn’t sway my opinion in any way- the best is the best, right?

The Best 3 Skincare Products I Found in Iceland

Side note on the little black and white sweater: when you’re in Iceland you see literally every Icelandic person wearing one of these (in human size, obviously).  They’re called lopapeysa, and I really did want one, but had to remind myself that I live in Los Angeles and would never have any use for a wool sweater (and they’re not cheap, btw). I ended up quenching my lust with this little ornament-sized version. How cute is it?! If and when I ever actually put up a Christmas tree, it’s definitely going on it.

Blue Lagoon Algae Mask skincare products I Found in Iceland

Blue Lagoon Algae Mask

We tried this mask while actually at the Blue Lagoon; the spa has a swim-up bar where you can actually put it on and then swim around while it works its magic on your face.  The algae mask was super soothing (especially since I tried it after the Silica Mask- more on that one below), and is composed of unique patented Blue Lagoon algae, which helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles.  I left it on for about 10 minutes and my skin felt refreshed and silky smooth.

BioEffect Volcanic Exfoliator skincare products I Found in Iceland

BioEffect Volcanic Exfoliator

I was drawn to this because who isn’t fascinated with volcanoes?  This product’s clarifying formula uses gentle exfoliants made from Icelandic Micro-Crystalline Lava. It deeply cleanse impurities out of your pores and also smooth your complexion’s surface. It’s infused with antioxidant-rich coconut oil, salicylic acid and vitamin E. Also, it has conditioning apricot kernels that leave you feeling instantly refreshed. I’ve used this exfoliator a few times since getting back and it’s quickly become a skincare staple for me!

Blue Lagoon Silica Mud Mask

Blue Lagoon Silica Mud Mask

Out of the two Blue Lagoon masks that I tried, this one is definitely the stronger of the two.  The silica mud mask and composed of the Blue Lagoon’s iconic “white wonder”. It deep-cleanses and strengthens your skin, reduces the visibility of pores, and leaves your skin fresh and clear.  My skin definitely started feeling really tight after about five minutes (mostly because my skin is rosacea-prone and sensitive), but once I took off the mask, my skin was legitimately the softest and smoothest EVER.

  2. I was in Iceland at the end of March and I absolutely wanted a wool sweater, but they are super expensive and I live in Houston; like you I would never wear it. Lol Wish I would have made it to the Blue Lagoon. Obviously I missed out. I am definitely wanting to switch my skin care over to Icelandic products. I’ll have to give these a try!
