I had to share THIS VIDEO from a recent segment that I did with the lovely ladies at Clevver News! You can watch my Tuesday Favorites segment about 11 minutes in, where I discuss three of my latest (affordable) beauty product favorites.
Make sure you subscribe to the Clevver News channel because Katie and Deidre do a show every day (The Daily Hollywood Rundown) and you can get all your celeb news in under 15 minutes, which is pretty amazing if you ask me. And, of course, subscribe to my channel as well!

Soooo if you followed along with me on Instagram and Twitter, you probably saw photos from my MTV VMAs viewing party! I had six of my friends over to my apartment and we learned how to rock our COVERGIRL moment with makeup artist Emily Warren, as we snacked on what I like to call “local” food: Mexican food. YUM. Anyway, there were a TON of memorable moments from the show (hello N’SYNC!) but when it came to beauty, it was alllll about NERVO for me. I got the details on NERVO’s nail and makeup looks:
Since NERVO was DJing the VMA red carpet, their nails had to make a statement! The Brooklyn location of the VMAs served as the inspiration for their nails looks – cool, yet gritty. NERVO’s electric look and sound definitely came through in their nail looks.
For Mim, the base was COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Black Diamond, Snow Storm, Forever Fawn, and Golden Opportunity. To make the look really funky, bold accessories were added including studs, a diamond bow and gold chains. She even donned an MTV flag on one of her nails to pay homage to the VMAs!
For Liv, the look was kept simple, starting with a base of COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Black Diamond and Snow Storm, with cool designs on each to give the look some edge.
Mim and Liv of NERVO’s Makeup Looks:
The girls have such a unique sense of style, so of course their beauty looks have to be a part of that. The outfits they chose for the red carpet were insane, so the beauty look had to be complimentary!
For Mim, COVERGIRL Clean Whipped Cream Foundation in Natural Beige (340) was applied as a base, followed by blush and two different bronzers for defined cheekbones: the Clean Glow Blush in Roses and Clean Glow Bronzer in Spices, and also TruBlend Minerals Bronzer in Golden Sunrise. The blended colors provided precise definition.
On the eyes, she started with COVERGIRL Ink It! Liner in Black Ink and drew from the inner corner of the eye to the outer, defining the eye lid into a full cat eye shape. Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Molten Black was used to fill in the space between the outer line and the lash line. The top water line was filled with liner to enhance the thickness of her lashes. To complete the bold eye, she finished with Clump Crusher Extensions in Very Black.
On the lips, a pop of sheer color was added using Queen Collection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Pink Diamond (800).
Liv’s beauty look was kept really simple with a striking cat eye. She used Clean Whipped Cream Foundation in Buff Beige (325) all over her face, and then set with TruBLEND Minerals Loose Powder in Translucent Medium (415). Clean Glow Bronzer in Spices was used to contour the cheeks and finished with Clean Glow Blush in Peaches.
A dramatic cat eye was created using a nude shadow as the base. She started with COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Mink (750), and then wore LineBlast 24 Hour Liner to create the sexy cat eye.
Liv’s look was finished with a beautiful lip created using LipPerfection in Rapture (280) with a touch of Smoochies Lip Balm in Luv Bug (245) for that extra gloss.

Guys, I’ve blogged about COVERGIRL like a million times (because I love it) and when they asked me to be their COVERGIRL Beauty Ambassador, I yelped with excitement. You know you’re going to be watching the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday (at 9pm!), so make sure you are also following me on Twitter and Instagram, because I will be hosting an intimate viewing party at my apartment. I know, I know…this means that, yes, I’ll have to clean my entire apartment and put away all of the random beauty products that I have thrown all over my loveseat. It’s a sad, but true story. So basically, not only do you get to check out the behind-the-scenes from my viewing party, where I’ll be sharing my favorite red carpet looks, but you ALSO get to see a few glimpses of my Hollywood Hills apartment. Lucky you, lol. I’m pretty pumped about it because not only is COVERGIRL providing gift bags and food from one of LA’s fiiiinest restaurants, but they also hired one of my favorite makeup artists EVER: Ms. Emily Warren! Emily and I go waaaay back to when I was doing beauty PR and she was an editor at COSMOgirl! Ahh, memories. I digress.
Here are the details:
MTV and COVERGIRL want to know, what’s your #covermoment? A #covermoment is the moment when a woman feels her most beautiful and empowered and wants to share it with the world. Whether it’s a selfie (but god, you know I hate those) or a group shot with friends, these are the moments in your life that you feel your most confident, independent, authentic self. COVERGIRL’s #covermoment tool will pull in Instagram and Twitter posts using the hashtag #covermoment from across the globe, bringing together celebrities, artists, and users all in one place, which is pretty awesome…and inspiring.
Anywho, I want you guys to join along, using the #covermoment hashtag! Tell me who you think rocked the red carpet! .
Here are my top COVERGIRL makeup pics, especially for Los Angeles:
COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm in “Tweet Me”: The name…oh so appropriate for the VMAs, right? There’s something very Hollywood glam about a fun red lip, which is why I’m really into this glossy, bright balm. It’s hydrating and non-sticky (my favorite).
COVERGIRL & OLAY Tone Rehab Foundation: Sadly, the word “rehab” is kind of synonymous with Hollywood but I still think it makes waaaay more sense when it comes to skincare. COVERGIRL & OLAY’s CC Cream products conceal and cover instantly, while also working to correct and improve skin tone over time. A CC Cream (Color + Correction) is a new way to get luminous coverage for youthful, radiant looking skin. The Tone Rehab product line works instantly to cover and even out your skin tone, while also helping to improve skin tone over time. One pump instantly covers discolorations, lines and wrinkles.
COVERGIRL Clean Glow Bronzer: Obviously, I’m a super pale girl living in a super tan WORLD (out here in Los Angeles), so a bronzer is necessary ALWAYS. I like this bronzer, in particular, because it’s great for sensitive skin and also not too bronze.
One more thing. As if you need yet another reason to watch the VMAs (you don’t) but here’s a little secret: The very first “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” COVERGIRL TV commercial will air during the VMAs! If you don’t already know, COVERGIRL is set to release a total of 12 high-fashion beauty looks, each inspired by a district in the film! I’m pretty much dying to see all 12 looks, especially since I’ve only seen Fishing and Luxury so far. You can’t miss it.
Here’s a weird fact: I really only started wearing makeup toward the end of college. Ok, with the exception that I did, occasionally wear the super classy white eyeliner on my eyelids during high school. Oh yeah, I did that. So sure…now that I actually DO have to wear makeup, my routine is usually under five minutes…mostly because I’m lazy and always running late. In this video, I show you my not-so-secret under five minute routine (FOUR minutes, to be exact!) that will give you the bare minimum as far as coverage, and not looking like a beast.
