Because I’ve always wanted to go to Aspen and because Steinway pianos are the best…
When Steinway & Sons asks you if you want to go to Aspen, Colorado to take over their Instagram (to cover the Aspen Music Festival), the answer is always a resounding YES. After arriving in Aspen (via the smallest/cutest airport EVER), I immediately checked out the quaint town (above) and gawked at the beautiful Colorado mountains. The air is just CLEAN in Aspen. It felt amazing.
I stayed at the Viceroy in Snowmass (about 20 minutes outside Aspen) and this bed was definitely very Aspen with it’s look and feel.
In love with the design aesthetic from the Aspen Music Festival!
The orchestras we saw (and we saw quite a few) were all super talented; it reminded me of my middle school days playing cello.
The funny thing about Aspen is that it’s a small ski city but because most of the residents are super rich their are TONS of designer stores- we’re talking Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, etc. It kind of made me laugh as I strolled down the Aspen version of Rodeo Drive or 5th Avenue.
By far one of my favorite performances was at private residence; students from the Music School performed a ton of opera songs for us and I was astounded at all the TALENT. Seriously.
On the last day I chatted with two of the pianists (playing Steinway, of course) about why they joined the Aspen orchestra. Again, just awed by all the talent.
In love with all the nature (and water!) in Colorado.
FTC Disclosure: Steinway & Sons invited me on a trip to attend the Aspen Music Festival and takeover their Instagram. All expenses were paid for by the brand, but all opinions are my own…as per usual.
