Because I really needed some Christmas cheer…
Earlier this month I was texting with my friend Olivia and we both decided that we absolutely NEEDED to get out of LA and feel the Christmas vibes, you know? So we planned a quick 48 hours in Solvang, California, a small Danish town about 2.5 hours north of LA known for it’s love of Christmas.
P.S. – we stayed at The Hadsten, which is part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection and it was great. Honestly, any hotel on the main street in Solvang is ideal since it’s such a walkable town. We also thought The Landsby was super cute and also has a great hotel bar and restaurant.

EAT
Peasant’s Feast
Like I mentioned above, we loooved this place (and it’s also Michelin Bib Gourmand-approved) . They don’t take reservations, so we got there early and had no issues. I highly recommend their hot chicken sandwich (above), but honestly everything looked great.
Chomp
Weirdly there wasn’t a ton of lunch opens when we got to Solvang, but we got lucky and found this great, old-school burger restaurant. I had the turkey burger with fries and a milkshake and it was heaven.
Coast Range
This Michelin-recognized restaurant was just perfect for dinner. You must get the brussel sprouts and pierogis.
Mad & Vin
We didn’t have time to eat here, but I’ve heard amazing things and it’s definitely on my list for next time.
DRINK
Final Girl Wine Tasting Room
You can’t miss this stop; we we were told it gives “spooky vibes,” and it sure does. For the Christmas season, i’d call it spooky Christmas, but what really sold this tasting spot for us was the owner and his adorable son.
The Good Life Wine Cellar
The Good Life was our first wine tasting stop and we loved the variety; plus, the wine cellar itself really does scream classic wine tasting.
Sanger Wine Tasting Room
This was our last tasting stop and the vibes are modern and chic, for sure. We didn’t do the full tasting (my head thanked me the next morning), but the wine we did try was fantastic.
SHOP
The Solvang Bakery
You can’t leave Solvang without going into at least ONE Danish bakery, and this one was made famous by the Kardashian-Jenners for their intricate gingerbread houses. Seriously so cute.
Solvang Olive Press
Wine country is usually synonymous with fancy olive oil, and I had to stop in and grab some orange-infused olive oil. It’s just so good and this shop, in particular, has dozens of different olive oil variations.
Pieces of the Past Antique Store
You guys know I love a small town antique store, and this one was definitely our favorite from the trip! It’s really large and prices are very reasonable.
Renaissance Antiques
This is such a fun and unique spot to pop into! It’s an antique store that sells the most amazing clocks – we loved just browsing and admiring the craftsmanship.
So much fun!! So glad we went, I had the best time!
