Because I had bronchitis for weeks (and still have a cough)…
After getting bronchitis last month (with a now-lingering cough!) I found myself reaching for the same handful of beauty products to help me survive. Mainly, aside from my chronic cough, my symptoms were a puffy, bloated face, dry lips and, of course, dry nostrils from blowing my nose. These four products were/are typically my g0-to when I’m feeling sick and I wanted to share since I know they’ll help you guys, too!
What are some of your go-to skin products for when you’re under the weather?
4 Skincare Products That Help When You’re Sick
Foreo IRIS Illuminating Eye Massager – Skincare Products that Help:
I’ve blogged about this device before and I’m still a big fan, especially when my under-eyes feel like they’re stuffed and puffy. The IRIS feels amazing and actually also helps with dark circles and crow’s feet as well. The gentle massage works with or with out eye cream (I actually didn’t use eye cream while I was sick) and it’s also waterproof and perfect for travel.
I do a total of one minute (30 seconds under each eye) a few times a day. The device has an automatic timer so you don’t have to worry about watching the clock. I like to lay on my couch and use this while watching The Office and wondering when I’m going to stop coughing, lol.
Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox Hydra-Gel Eye Patches:
Another long-time favorite (they’re also great for before bed!), these cooling, cucumber-infused hydra-gel patches help reduce puffiness around the eye (as well as dark circles and dryness). When I’m not using my Foreo IRIS, I’m using these babies. They’re one of my favorite eye patches because they don’t drip or ooze any liquid and they actually DO stick to your face/make it feel cool.
You get 60 patches per container, all infused with cucumber extract- which helps naturally detoxify, nourish, hydrate, and de-puff the look of skin. These are a MUST.
Glossier Rose Balm Dotcom:
An all-purpose balm is another must when you’re sick. This hydrating, long-lasting, multipurpose skin salve (and lip balm!) is packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair dry, chafed skin. I use this on my nostrils (always dry and flakey when I’m sick from nose blowing) and cuticles.
The dense, waxy texture stays in place and truly does lock in moisture so you feel super hydrated. I love the rose scent but it also comes in Original, Birthday (inspired by Milk Bar’s famous cake, with subtle shimmer), Cherry, Mint, Coconut and now Mango as well! Pick your poison…
Pistache Pistachio Lip Balm:
After falling in LOVE with Pistache’s Body Butter I was pumped to try their new-ish lip balm. It uses their signature pistachio oil to nourish and hydrate your lips and it even gives you a little plumpness. If you didn’t already know, pistachio oil is a great source of vitamin E, fatty acids and lutein; all of which provide essential antioxidant protection and have anti-aging properties for the skin (i.e. perfect for when you’re sick). Then they added in some coconut oil as well for extra hydration and antioxidant lip protection.

I usually see Foreo facial brushes on the blogs so I was interested to see post about Iris. It really does look relaxing 🙂 when I’m sick I love to moisturise my skin and lips because I’m so dehaydrated.
