Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum

In short, the new Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum is fashion in a bottle.  When I heard that the Italian fashion house was creating its first fragrance, I was elated…you see, I saw my first Bottega bag when I was studying abroad in Venice, Italy and I instantly fell in love.  According to the release, Tomas Maier, the creative force behind Bottega Veneta, conceived the first fragrance as a dream of the Venetian countryside —love.  The colors of the bottle are signature BV: a brunito cap and collar, an ebano logo and a skin-colored leather ribbon clipped wth a brunito butterfly (so elegant) and the bottle was inspired by Venetian glasswork and the traditonal Italian carafe.

Looks aside, cause we all know I’m a sucker for pretty packaging, the scent itself evokes the sensuality of the house’s leather goods.  The fragrance is what they call a “leathery floral” that marries scents of the Venetian countryside – fresh meadows, mown hay, flowers, earth and wood…I’m flashing back to winter 2003 and summer 2005 in Italia.  Sigh.
