One Bag & Three Beauty Obsessions

BAG:

Reed Krakoff Gym Bag: Granted, this is probably the fanciest gym bag EVER but I’m in love with it and clearly, wouldn’t actually use it at the gym.

BEAUTY:

Jouer Everyday Classic Wear Mascara: I’m a big fan of Jouer so obvisouly, this mascara didn’t let me down. It’s my favorite deep, dark black and it doesn’t flake!  Perfection.

Kate Somerville Dermal Quench Liquid Lift Advanced Wrinkle Treatment: Aside from just LOOKING cool, this anti-aging product turned Kate’s popular DermalQuench treatment into an at-home product!

Suave Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo: I’m an avid dry shampoo user and I love that this particular dry shampoo is keratin-infused, adding even extra benefits for the hair.

Summer Helpers

I love a nice lazy summer.  For me, summer is all about relaxation, the beach and not caring as much about the little things (e.g. brown roots, slightly dirty hair and uncomfortable shoes).  Here are three of my summer helper secrets:

Foot Petals: I’m obsessed with this life-saving product.  It can take shoes that normally destroy your feet to shoes that are actually comfortable.  They’re a miracle.

Rita Hazan Root Concealer for Highlights: My hair grows like a weed which makes getting my highlights touched up both annoying AND expensive.  This root concealer, made especially for highlights is great for helping me to get that extra week (or two!) before going back to the salon.

KENRA Platinum Dry Shampoo: I’m a big dry shampoo advocate and the KENRA version is pretty great.  I especially love that it has a UV defense duo, which helps protect against color fade.

The Top 5 Hair Products Every Woman Should Own, According to Edward Tricomi

I’m all about simplifying my hair routine, escpecially during the summer months.  Here, Edward Tricomi, hair master and co-owner of Warren Tricomi salons, gives his five must-have products that every woman should own…and I totally, 100% agree.

Must-Have #1: QUALITY SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

“Think of your shampoo and conditioner as the prep work before you style. Spending a little extra for quality is well worth the splurge.”

Must-Have #2: HAIRSPRAY

“My number one must-have. You want your style to have hold but still move and be touchable. Shu Uemura makes a great one, you can layer it depending on the amount of hold you need.”

Must-Have #3: BLOW DRY LOTION

“You need to use frizz-fighting product while the hair is still wet. A blow dry lotion provides humidity resistance, frizz-control and protects hair from heat styling, which is so important.”

Must-Have #4: DRY SHAMPOO

“Great for when you want to breathe life back into your style. Sexy, wavy styles will stay voluminous and blowouts will last longer. No need to worry about them falling flat.”

Must-Have #5: HAIR GLAZE

“Takes out the dullness. Gives beautiful shine and depth. Depending on your hair texture you can use it daily or as a weekly treatment.  If hair is super fine, don’t use it more than once a week.”

The Monday Rundown

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies: The mint and chocolate combo has always been a fave, and with St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, why not?

SHOUROUK E. Vegas Crystan and Sequin Earrings: I saw these on my girl Dina Fierro’s Pinterest and fell in love.  I love the combo of neon with metal.

Redken Powder Refresh 01: I’m a huggge dry shampoo advocate and being a big fan of the Redken line, I knew their dry shampoo wouldn’t dissapoint.

Cru Intl by Darbie Angell Monaco Gold Tumblers: I was shocked, literally shocked, when I discovered these amazing glasses came from Bed Bath & Beyond.  The gold dots are actually 24K gold and the only downside is that they’re hand wash only, obviously.

Spring Beauty Picks!

So spring is here and I have a slew of new favorite beauty products that I have to share with you:

Kate Somerville Tanning Towelettes: When I first heard about tanning towelettes, I had my doubts…but these are the ulitmate in tanning wipes.  They’re paraben-free and the result is totally natural and streak-free.

Crabtree & Evelyn Creme De Menthe Lip Butter: Besides the fact that the packaging is uber spring, I’m loving the creamy mint taste that this lip butter leaves on my lips.  It’s super moisturizing and leaves the slightest tint of color on your pout.

Suave Dry Shampoo: I’m a huge fan of dry shampoo, and especially when it costs less than $10.  Suave’s version is fab and it also has a fun lemon scent that makes me feel like I’m on vacation.

Bare Escentuals Buxom Stay-There Eye Shadow: I’m always a little intimidated by eye shadow in any unordinary form but when I tried these out, I was pleasantly surprised.  The mineral-infused, paraben-free formula is perfect for delicate skin since it boasts soothing aloe and vitamin E. As a special bonus, each shade is named after a different breed of dog (!) and Bare Escentuals is making a charitable contribution to Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilitiesby providing highly trained assistance dogs.

Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara: I loved the orginal, non-jumbo version, and it’s like one of my favotrite mascaras got even bigger and better.  This 100% natural mascara not only boots your lashes but it does so without all the nasty ingredients getting in your eyes and destroying your lashes.

TRESemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo

So I’m always raving about how much I love dry shampoo but one downside is definitely the cost.  Dry shampoo doesn’t come cheap…until now.  TRESemme just launched their new Fresh Start collection that features the very first “masstige” dry shampoo!  The unique solution refreshes hair on days when you skip a shampoo, removes excess oil, odor and even frizz.  The formula, comprised of mineral clay and citrus extract, refreshes the odor of your hair.  Love it.  AND it’s only $4.99.
