Black Beauty

Ever since I tested out Boscia’s black face mask, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of black beauty products.  I mean, how fun is it to use something that’s not white or clear, right?  I went on a quest for the next big things in black beauty and found two more amazing black beauty products, no pun intended.

Crabtree & Evelyn Black Sea Mud Seaweed Triple Milled Soap: This gentle, vegetable-based soap contains sea silt and conditioning red and brown algae, shea butter and some amazing primrose oils.  I mean, it’s black soap, guys.  Need I say more?

Elizabeth Grant Black Algae Anti-Aging Mask: Two things- black algae and black pearl extract.  Seriously.  If you didn’t already know, algae is rich in alginic acid, which heps to fight free radicals responsible for cellular aging.  And the pearl?  Well it helps to nourish the skin, supporting moisturization and protecting against environmental damage.  Plus, it’s really fun to put on a black face mask.

Elizabeth Grant Light Up Your Lips Gloss

So I’m really picky when it comes to lipgloss.  And why not?  There are a trillion different kinds to choose from so why settle?  Well I recently tried Elizabeth Grant Light Up Your Lips Gloss and now I have a new favorite.  Moisturizing Torricelumn makes lips appear fuller and smoother and I love a good high-pigment gloss that is NOT sticky.  There’s also an LED light in the wand of the gloss with a small mirror attached so you can apply on-the-go.  Loving it.

Holiday Gift Idea: for the party girl who stays up too late

So as I get older and older I’m beginning to see that everyone isn’t crazy and yeah, I can get bags under my eyes.  My youthful skin of yesteryear is gone, unfortunately, and sadly there’s not much I can do about it.  And then I was introduced to Elizabeth Grant’s The Socializer– Bright Lights and Late Nights. One, the name is awesome.  Two, this stuff really works.  I first tried “Late Nights” (since that seems to be my usual problem) and saw instant results- the key remedy to the whole “too much fun and too little sleep,” as they put it.  I applied this little miracle on around 4:30 am and woke up looking refreshed and dewey.  Love.

Mother’s Day beauty picks

So I’m a little sad that I won’t get to see my Mom this Mother’s Day, since she’s in New York.  But even though she’s 3,000 miles away, I still have plans to spoil her with beauty products and plenty of everything that she deserves.  My mom will absolutely die for any of these products…and so will yours.

Jane Iredale Perfectly Nude Collection -This really is a great collection and you really get a good selection of product with it!  The eyeshadow kit, lip fixation lipgloss and bronzer are all perfectly neutral shades and what mother wouldn’t love this?

Carol’s Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Duo -You’re probably thinking “shampoo and conditioner as a gift?  Really?”  Well, let me tell you, this duo smells a-mazing…plus, it deeply cleans and moisturizes your hair of daily toxins and product build-up, which brings hair back to its original shiny, healthy state.  A time travel hair duo, if you will.

LUSH Turkish Delight -Your mom will butter herself up with this delightful rose body polish.  It’s super decadent (and also vegan).  I love that this is whipped up with all natural products such as roses, cocoa butter, almond oil, jasmine and, of course, Turkish rose.

Elizabeth Grant Caviar Rejuvenating Eye Pads -What mom doesn’t want to be pampered with caviar on Mother’s Day?  These Caviar-infused Rejuvenating Eye Pads help achieve the perfect balance of nourishing proteins, vitamins, minerals, nutrients and moisture in the skin.

Elizabeth Grant Ultimate Cellular Concentrate

So I’m absolutely a fan of La Prairie but spending $375 on one product is just not anywhere near my budget.  When I heard about Elizabeth Grant’s Ultimate Cellular Concentrate and how it’s being touted as a new celebrity favorite, I was intrigued to try it out.  The verdict?  Amazing.  This clinically tested formula uses an intensive concentration of plant stem cells to help delay the appearance of aging by protection and repairing epidermal skin cells, as well as slowing the rate at which surface skin cells deteriorate.  I absolutely think that anyone concerned with aging should try this out and, while you’re at it, follow them on Twitter too.
