I’m not really a theater girl. Â I remember my first day of college when my total stranger of a roommate (a theater major from Massachusetts) immediately asked me how many Broadway plays I’ve seen (me being from New York and all). Â My reply? Â “Uhhh, I don’t know maybe like two or three.” Â I just never really cared, in all honesty. Â HOWEVER, Judy Bloom’s Are You There God? Â It’s Me, Margaret was one of my favorite books growing up so when my friend Dane told me that he wrote and directed a play loosely based on the novel, I HAD to see it. Â People, it is AMAZING. Â My friend Devon and I went (for only $20 a ticket, serious) and didn’t stop laughing the whole time. Â If I can say anything to attest to how great this play is, it’s this: Are You There God? It’s Me, Karen Carpenter made me almost miss being in middle school. Â ALMOST. Â And that says it all.
Check it out in Los Angeles, starting November 30th!
