So these are seriously the most glamorous lipsticks IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. What is it, you ask? YSL Volupte Sheer Candy. I’ve blogged before about how much I adore these lipsticks, and people, I don’t even like lipstick. It’s the packaging. I feel like a genuine lady when I put this on. The Sheer Candy line will hit Sephora in just a few days (May, to be exact) and in everywhere else in June for $30.
So I think I’ve finally found the perfect hybrid of lipstick and lipgloss in NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil. Personally, I’ve always preferred a gloss over tradional lipstick since I find lipstick to be super drying but there are also plenty of times that I’ll put on my fave gloss and then walk outside to have the wind push my hair right into my gloss. Gross AND annoying.
I was recently reading an interview that Glee’s Heather Morris did for Teen Vogue and she mentioned that she also prefers lip pencils over super glossy products since she’s a dancer and always whipping her hair back and forth (had to say it), which made me even more excited when I found out about the launch of this new hybrid product from NARS. The pencil is super lightweight but the color is still exceptionally rich. It also boats a blend of moisture-rich hyaluronic spheres and Vitamin E, which is only a good thing, girls. We have a reall winner here.
So I’ve never really been a lipstick girl but when I saw a photo of YSL’s ROUGE VOLUPTE Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15, I nearly died. Not only does the lipstick go on smooth, but it also doesn’t dry out your lips (like most lipstick does to me) AND the tube is probably the most glamourous thing in the whole wide world. I was instantly reminded of the post I wrote awhile back on glam makeup compacts. ROUGE VOLUPTE just seems like a lipstick my grandmother would use, and that’s not a bad thing. It’s old-school and reminiscent of a time when people took a lot of pride in being classy. As an added bonus, the lipstick also has SPF 15 so your lips are not only colored and gorgeous, but also protected from the sun’s harmful rays. UGH, and there’s also a little mirror on top of the golden metallic case that’s kind of making me melt. I can’t express my love in words right now for this lipstick.
