Vanity Fair & L’Oréal Paris DJ Night Party

photo: Nadine Jolie, me

Ah, awards season. You know how I love thee.  I attended a super fun pre-Oscars party the other night at one of my favorite spots: The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.  Freida Pinto co-hosted the party with Vanity Fair and, of course, L’Oréal Paris.  Here’s how to get Freida’s stunning makeup look from the event:

Three Questions With Beth Behrs

I had so much fun at the L’Oréal Golden Globes party, hosted by their makeup artist Billy B and Beth Behrs from 2 Broke Girls, that I obviously had to ask her to be featured in my 3 Questions With section.  If you’re not already watching 2 Broke Girls, you SHOULD BE.  The show is absolutely hilarious, and so is Beth.  Here are her words of wisdom:

Q: If you could give your 22-year-old self any advice, what would it be?

A: Always stay true to who you are.

Q. What’s the deal with Caroline’s signature pearl necklace?  Did you have any say in the decision to go with that particular necklace?

A: Nope! (It) was all the brilliance of our costume designer, Traycee! Now I feel naked without it!

Q. What are your top three L’Oréal products and why?

A: Any of their lip glosses, mineral concealer, mineral foundation – because you can throw all three on and have a natural looking glow and it takes less than 2 minutes to accomplish!

Golden Globes: L’Oréal Paris’ Colour Riche Lipstick Turns 21 (and a giveaway!)

You know how I love me some awards season and, to kick it off, let’s start with The Golden Globes.  My first event of the weekend was a 21st birthday party, funny enough, for L’Oréal Paris’ Colour Riche Lipstick!  The iconic product is finally old enough to party with me and, to make it even more interesting, the party was hosted by two awesome people: L’Oréal Paris Makeup Artist Billy B. and actress Beth Behrs from one of my favorite shows, 2 Broke Girls.

Now, on to the good stuff: in honor of Colour Riche’s 21st, I’m giving away 21, yes, TWENTY ONE, lipsticks to 21 winners at random.  And, cause it gets better, I’m also giving away one of the CC Skye rose gold bracelets (pictured below) to one lucky winner at random!  All you have to do is follow me on Twitter and tweet me why you want a lipstick and/or the bracelet!  I’ll pick winners next Tuesday, January 22nd at 3pm PST.  Good luck and happy 21st birthday to Colour Riche! xo

My Current Hair Care Regimen

L’OREAL EverCream Cleansing Conditioner: I’ve tried a few cleansing conditioners and have never really been that impressed…until now.  L’OREAL’s version is perfection.  My hair feels clean and moisturized, all in one.

Bumble and Bumble (Really) Thickening Serum: I’ve been using this serum for years and have always been really impressed with the results.  My hair doesn’t feel greasy but still gets lots of volume and fullness after using it.

Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum: Hair oil can be a little scary for those of us with fine locks but once you try hair oil, you never go back. I’m way into argan oil for my hair (and skin, for that matter).

Rita Hazan Root Concealer: I like to make jokes about the fact that I have a random patch of grey hair under my side swept bangs which, not so funny enough, are strategically UNDER my bangs.  Not so random. But anywho, I like to use this Root Concealer when I pin my bangs back and my greys are exposed. Ah, getting old…not so fun.

Oribe Dry Texturzing Spray: I blogged about this product in my October 5 Favorites, and I still stand by it.  It’s fab for giving loads of volume and texture, once your hair is dry and straight.

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo: I don’t use dry shampoo every day, but I probably use it at least four times a week.  So, obviously, I’m pretty picky about the brands that I use.  Oscar Blandi’s version is awesome.  Enough said.

Pre-Emmys Prep with L’OREAL Paris

There’s one thing that I’ll never turn down, and that’s a free blow out.  L’OREAL is one of those amazing beauty brands that’s basically involved with anything major and cool so when they invited me to their pre-Emmys beauty suite at The Four Season Beverly Hills and then to the Entertainment Weekly party, I was stoked.  I had my hair done in my go-to “loose waves, high volume” style, a fresh pedi and, of course, had my makeup done.

This is the makeup village it takes to get me ready, apparently.  And a big thanks to April, L’OREAL’s amazing makeup artist (and my neighbor!)

Obsessed with their new Nail Lingerie and this amazing shade of red (for my toes) called “Red Tote”

My favorite new House of Harlow 1960 double finger (you know I love those) snake ring, c/o L’OREAL. Manicure by ESSIE and you can see more images from ESSIE’s pre-Emmy suite (and me making crazy faces) HERE.
