NEST Fragrance Diffuser in Moss & Mint

So lately I’ve been buying candle upon candle and I’m always looking for the next best thing in home fragrance.  There’s something just so relaxing to me about sitting on my couch with the fire going and a delicious candle burning at the same time so when I came across the NEST fragrance Diffuser, I was super excited to check it out.  I’m sort of new to the whole fragrance diffuser trend but so far I’m very impressed.  The scent I’m loving?  Moss & Mint.  It’s a combination of garden mint, apple blossom and muglet infused with a touch of oakmoss and vetiver.  It’s just extremely elegant and I loooooove the bottle that all of the NEST fragrances come in and each fragrance diffuser lasts for about 90 days, which is much longer than any candle will last.

On a side note, NEST is created by Laura Slatkin, of Slatkin candle fame, because she wanted to create her own collection of prestige home fragrance.  You know what I’m thinking?  Best housewarming gift ever.

THE Hospitality Suite at the Nivea For Men Mansion hosted by Pascal Mouawad

So living in LA, I do get to attend some pretty cool events…and THE Hospitality Suite at the Nivea For Men Mansion was no exception.  The party was held at famous jeweler Pascal Mouawad’s house in the Hills in honor of the Golden Globes…and seriously, there were some crazy star sightings.  Not like Brangelina or TomKat sightings (or even Speidi) but celebs who I didn’t even realize I actually liked.  Vince from Friday Night Lights, people!  I mean, come ON.  FNL is only my favorite show EVER.  Besides Vince (aka Michael B. Jordan), Jenny McCarthy, Milla Jovovich, Nicole Scherzinger, Kyle Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and and even Ali Fedotowsky from The Bachelor, my most hated show on television.

Besides the celeb spottings, the suite was pretty fab.  I got to catch up with George Papanikolas, who recently did my highlights, and get my hair blown out with the amazing JOICO line while chatting with friends.

New York Knicks vs. Los Angeles Lakers game!

So if you read my blog then you probably get the feeling that I’m not such a huge sports fan.  BUT I do love basketball…and especially, the New York Knicks.  I was lucky enough to get four tickets to Sunday night’s Knicks vs. the Los Angeles Lakers game downtown at LA’s Staples Center!  Not only did I get four tickets but they were four VIP sky box tickets, which worked out well in case I decided to scream profanities at the Lakers- this way I can’t get hit with anything.

I wasn’t the only Knicks fan in the house- Lindsay Lohan (who’s from Long Island!) and Spike Lee donned Knicks gear and there were plenty of other celebs spotted- Adam Sandler, Will.i.am, Michelle Trachtenberg and, of course, Jack Nicholson– he never misses a Lakers game. And even though the Knicks lost, it was a VERY CLOSE game and I have total faith that they’ll get another chance at beating the champion Lakers.

CoverGirl’s 50th Anniversary Party at Boa

So after living in Hollywood for over a year and a half now, I think I’m starting to become a little jaded by celeb spottings.  That is, until I attended CoverGirl’s 50th Anniversary Party at Boa (after the People’s Choice Awards) the other night and stood in the most celeb-packed room that I’ve ever been in.  Not only were ALL the “CoverGirl’s” in attendance (including Niki Taylor!) but there was also a TON of other celebs like Lauren Conrad (along with her makeup artist, Amy Nadine), Whitney Port, Amber Riley and Cory Monteith from Glee, Selena Gomez, Brittany Snow, Kendra and Hank Baskett, Jesse Williams from Grey’s Anatomy and (gasp) A.C. Slater himself, Mario Lopez.  I mean, come on.  Sam Ronson was DJing on the one’s and two’s (I LOVE saying that) and I couldn’t stop staring at the foundation trees!  Love.  A BIG thank you to CoverGirl for inviting me to this epic party.  This jaded girl got a big wake up call when I read my emails the next morning that said “OMG, I saw your tweets! I can’t believe you went ot the CoverGirl party- it’s ALL over the blogs!”  And there it is, kids…

Highlights from George Papanikolas and Joico, my new product love

So if you’re a loyal reader of my blog then you know a few things about me 1-) I love all things Gwen Stefani 2-) I like any beauty products that smell like food and 3-) I’m very picky about my highlights.  I recently had the opportunity to try out the fabulous George Papanikolas at West Hollywood’s Andy Lecompte Salon.  If you haven’t heard of George, you probably don’t read Us Weekly or People because he has A-list celebrity clients like Nicole Richie and Sarah Michelle Gellar and he has them for good reason.

Not only was George insanely nice but he actually listened when I tried to explain the exact shade of blonde that I covet and he even humored me when I pulled out my iPhone and showed him my Facebook photo (oh yes, I did it).  His secret weapon?  Well besides his amazing belayage, George uses Joico products and on me he used Joico’s Hair Repair System, which helps repair and lock in color.  Personally, I loved the smell and my hair felt super soft and shiny when I left the salon.  I think I might have found my LA colorist…it’s about time.
