Spring Makeup Palettes

So I’m the first to admit that I’m a total sucker for pretty packaging, which is exactly why I’m also a sucker for makeup that just looks gorgeous…oh, and it’s also actually really good makeup on top of the pretty presentation.

Stila Garden Bliss Palette – Inspired by fresh organic flowers, this palette instantly enhances your skin, leaving your complexion radiant and luminous…and I love that you can use it on your eyes, cheeks, face and decollete.

Lancome Desert Rose Blush – It’s just sooo pretty and fun.  This all-over powder gives you a super subtle shine.  I love that’s it’s sort of a “new” mix between shaded tones of summer bronze, berry red and soft pinks.

Physician’s Formula Cashmere Wear Ultra-Smoothing Bronzer – As son as I saw the braided texture of this bronzer, I immediately had to touch it.  The ultra-luxurious powder has the classic look and feel of cashmere, leaving skin feeling smooth, soft and nourished.  And yes, this product actually does contain 100% cashmere extract on top of moisturizing hyaluronic acid and soft focus pearls.

L’Oreal The One Sweep Eye Shadow

So my makeup routine is lazy, at best.  In fact, I only started wearing any kind of foundation about three years ago when I battled a little adult acne and it became a necessity to cover it up.  My laziness and, quite frankly, my resistance to wear eye shadow is actually helped out with this really smart new product from L’Oreal- The One Sweep Eye Shadow.  What’s brilliant about it is that the colors are already in place so that all you have to do is rub the brush onto the color, apply to your eye and boom- your eye shadow is done for the day.  In all honesty you do have to really rub the brush onto the color and practice a bit before it actually works but I’m starting to get the hang of it and I’ve been wearing the “Playful for All Eyes” shade, which is a really pretty neutral brown.   It’s the lazy girl’s total dream…

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

So I’ve always been a total mascara junkie but I’ve always been hesitant to put mascara on my bottom lashes…until now.  I’ve seen makeup artists do this, and do it well, but it was always one of those things you just have to leave to the professionals.  Well Clinique swooped in and solved this problem with their new Bottom Lash Mascara.

According to a survey that Clinique conducted, 80% of women said their mascara brush was either too fat, too long or curved the wrong way to apply to bottom lashes- sounds about right.  But it’s not just as simple as making a smaller brush.  Clinique’s Bottom Lash Mascara uses a thermal active formula that lasts for up to 24 hours with out smudging or smearing (thank god) and is also flake-resistant.  Also, it’s only $10…can’t beat that.

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder

So who doesn’t love being happy?  I’m way into this new line because Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder is pretty amazing.  Happy Booster is the first ever makeup line created to stimulate happiness.  Yes, you read that right…makeup that stimulates happiness.  The ingredients are specially formulated to boost your mood- the color combination, texture and aroma all work together to give you a “happy boost,” if you will, which I’m seriously obsessing over.  Makeup should make people happy.  I know what you’re thinking though…what exactly actually boosts your mood?  Well this product contains Euphoryl, rich in Omega 3 and a known anti-depressant is in this baby in addition to a mood-enhancing fragrance and “happy skin,” which is derived from Arctic Rose, which mimics the effect of endorphins, also known as “happy  molecules,” for a sense of wellness and pleasure.

What’s even more interesting is the survey that Physician’s Formula conducted a Kelton’s survey on happiness.  I think anyone going through their quarter life crisis pretty much assumes that they’re the only one feeling down in the dumps but according to this survey, that’s not even close to the truth.  Only 18% of women are reported as being at their happiest!  ANd 39% said they aren’t as happy as often as they would like to be.

The fact that over 76% of women also reported that happiness can be found with the simpler things in life further proves that all makeup should make you happy.  Thoughts?

Koh Gen Doh Cleansing Spa Cloths- a favorite of “Glee” stars!

So I’ve been using Koh Gen Do’s Cleansing Spa Cloths for the past few days, which is why I was super excited when I heard the news that the cast of Glee loves them almost as much as I do.  According to their makeup artist, Jennifer Greenberg, ‘the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water Cloths are the best that I have used.  Our actors on Glee also love them and we can barely keep them stocked.”

What’s great about these cloths (and I’ve tried them all) is that the cloth itself is organic and contains mineral-rich cleansing spa water that wipes away makeup and skin impurities.  The thermal water is from Yumura Hot Springs in Izumo Japan, which I love because I had the best baths EVER while traveling through Japan.  As soon as this hits the presses, I’m sure Gleeks everywhere will be running to Barneys. 🙂

Fusion Beauty PrimeResults Anti-Redness Primer

So I’ve always been a primer skeptic but recently I tried out Fusion Beauty PrimeResults Anti-Redness Primer and I have to say, I’m now a believer.  I always thought primers were all marketing hype to get you to spend more money on additional items that you “must use” but ok, I can admit when I’m wrong…and I was wrong this time.

What I love about this line of primers (there are 3 others!) is that you can pick one that’s uniquely for you.  I chose the Anti-Redness Primer because well, I have a mild case of Rosacea that drives me bonkers.  The shade of this product instantly neutralizes the appearance of inflammation and transformed the red patches on my skin into a lighter, peachy tone.  But if you have acne, need some help fighting wrinkles or think you need some brightening up, there are 3 other primers from Fusion Beauty that are right for you.  Love it.
