Gift Guide: What to get your 3 year old nephew

Today is my nephew Mark’s 3rd birthday.  I can’t imagine anything else bringing so much joy to my life; he is truly the best thing my sister has ever given me and, being that he’s the only little one in my life, I am constantly one-upping my sister and parents when it comes to giving him gifts.  Here’s what I went for this year, which, is especially awesome since he’s finally at an age where he really understands and appreciates his gifts.

Next up: a real life meet and greet with iCarly.  I’m not kidding…how LA am I right now?

Kiwi Crate: My friend Devon told me about this awesome company.  They create fun craft projects for kids and then mail them directly to each child.  My Markie loves getting mail AND loves art projects so I signed him up for a 3 month membership.

Dylan’s Candy Bar Sugar Free Candy Mix: What kid doesn’t love candy?  I decided to do my sister a favor and get the sugar-free version as to not send him off into a sugar high rage.

The Children’s Place Skull Socks: There are no words for how cute these are. Win.

The Children’s Place Canvas Fedora: My nephew is quite fashionable and so I know that he’ll love this canvas fedora, especially when it gets hot and the New York summer sun comes out.

Giveaway! Win a set of mark products!

So you’ve probably read my previous posts one one of my favorite brands, mark, and now I have a fun giveaway with two of their newest products- the Glowdacious Illuminating Powder and Gloss Gorgeous Stay On Lip Stain.  Two essentials in my makeup bag – bronzer and lip stain.  What I love about the Glowdacious Powder is that it actually combines bronzer and highlighter in one so it’s a bronzer but on a not-overbearing way.  As for the Gloss Gorgeous Stain, which also happens to be a winner of one of Redbook’s “MVP Awards,” I love the shade “Prettied Up”…which is perfect for my light skin tone.  It glides on smooth and actually stay on, unlike other lip stains.  Plus, who doesn’t love a beauty product in a pen?

Win a set!  I’m giving away FIVE sets for my readers…simply comment on this post and tell me why you want to win by Wednesday, August 25th.

Skype chat with mark’s lifestyle expert, Shannon Eis

Queen of the Quarter Life Crisis – Mark Interview from Kaplow Communications on Vimeo.

So I’ve been a long-time fan of mark, which is why I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to speak with their lifestyle expert, Shannon Eis.

Confession: this video was my first Skype interview experience and thank god for the amazing mark PR team because if they didn’t walk me through it, I would’ve thrown my computer onto the 405 freeway.

If you’re not already familiar, mark is a younger, cooler version of Avon (where I worked right after college!) and was created to attract a new generation of customers and representatives.  After speaking with Shannon, I learned all about how many college-aged girls are making tons of money just by selling cool stuff to their friends, which also helps build great business skills.  Reps receive 30% commission on sales and, of course, enjoy discounts when they want something for themselves.

mark Ironclad Ring

So I have to give it up to mark, as in Avon’s mark, because they really do have amazing jewelry at  really affordable prices.  Right now I’m loving the mark Ironclad Ring that you have to admit, looks super chic and expensive but retails for only $14!  And since I’m not one to wear really expensive jewelry, I knew this ring was the perfect statement ring to add to my collection.  Who needs to spend a ton of money on accessories that won’t even be in style 8 months from now?  Not me.  mark has had quite a few pieces that I’ve really enjoyed over the past few years- way to go, mark.
