Sponsored Post: Spa Breaks

So I’ve been in the midst of planning my best friend’s crazy New York City night out bachelorette party…and then she told me she wants to go to a spa, by the beach.  Great, good to know!  I immediately switched over to my new mission of finding the coolest, trendiest spa that the Jersey shore has to offer, which seems like it might get pretty difficult.  I never realized how hard it is to find a good spa outside your area until this moment…then I came across Spa Breaks.  Granted, it’s for the United Kingdom and doesn’t include U.S. cities but I’m totally melting over their robust selection of spas and even more so, their easy way to navigate around and search.

Let’s face it, spa days are the best days but if you can’t find the right spa for you, it’s pretty pointless.  I’m loving the spa weekend options so much that I might even suggest a quick trip across the pond to my friend as an alternate to the Jersey shore…and what an amazing alternate that would be, ha.

Taking my very first bubble bath in years

So I was talking to my friend Kelley on the phone the other night and she told me that she was tired and just wanted to take a bubble bath.  A bubble bath?  What a novel concept.  I can’t even remember the last time I took a bubble bath but something tells me that it was in High School, which was the last time that I would consider my tub clean enough to rest my bare bum on it.  In college, bubble baths are out of the question and up until now, I’ve always had roommates where I’d feel a little bad hogging the bathroom for that long (I mean when you’ve gotta pee, you’ve gotta pee, right?).

I started thinking about what I have in my apartment to create a peaceful scene and I think I did quite well.  I used Philosophy’s Chocolate Chip Cookies Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath as super luxurious bubble maker that also curbs my cookie cravings.  I then lit my Diptyque Roses candle, which is one of my favorite scents, and the combo of chocolate and roses is pretty much nirvana in my book.  After relaxing for a bit in the tub, I then put on my comfy Soft Hugwear Spa Wrap so that I could dry off a bit with out putting my clothes back on.  Ah, a great day.  I think I’ll be doing this again soon.

Gift Idea: LATHER Planting Seeds gift set (for your mom)

So if there’s one thing that my sister and I gave my mother while growing up, it was a headache.  When I came across this adorably perfect Planting Seeds gift set from LATHER, I knew my mom simply had to have it.  The lavender-themed gift set celebrates the power of aromatherapy and LATHER’s founder’s discovery that lavender essential oil helped ease the pain of her migraine headaches.  It was actually with this discovery that she gained a passion for natural healing and decided to create LATHER out of a desire to help others and, as an added bonus, LATHER will donate $5 from the sale of each gift set to benefit the National Headache Foundation for headache awareness, education and outreach.  It really is the perfect gift…for $20 you get the Oatmeal Lavender Soap, Lavender Aromatherapy Candle and a little packet of Lavender seeds for your mom to plant come spring.

GODIVA Home Fragrance Collection

So I do love beauty and home products that smell like food.  We all know this.  I recently received the new GODIVA Milk Chocolate Truffle Scented Candle and I’m completely into it.  I love coming home, drinking a glass of wine and burning this candle all while catching up on my favorite blogs and TV shows.  SO relaxing.  The line also includes Holiday Peppermint Bark (HELLO, holiday hostess gift), Black Almond Truffle, White Chocolate Magnolia and Raspberry Ganache.  Yum.  I’m getting hungry just typing this.  The best part is that the candles are actually really affordable as well ($22.50 each).
