So lately I’ve been experimenting more with dark eye looks, which obviously means my washcloths and towels have been taking a severe beating. I read about Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Eye Makeup Remover Pads in Lucky a month or two back and Jean Godfrey June, Beauty Director, raised a good point about how terrible it is to use eye makeup remover pads that contain all sorts of chemicals. These pads are 100% free of harsh chemicals, parabens and synthetic preservatives…plus, they’re also cruelty-free and contain Eco-Aroma Therapy.
So right now I’m pretty obsessed with Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme. Not only does it smell diviiiiine but it’s also 100% natural and super moisturizing with its Almond Milk and Vitamin E. And how elegant is the jar? LOVE this.
So not that I’ve been able to get to the beach so far this summer (thank you RAIN), but I’ve been using a new razor in hopes that one day, it might actually be nice enough to beach it. I’m loving Gillette Venus Spa Breeze razor…not only does it smell of delightful White Tea, but it has built-in shave gel bars that flex and respond to fit intricate curves, delivering the best smooth shave.
So I’m very skeptical of most self tanners and for good reason. I’m very fair and also, very lazy so when put in a position where I have to carefully apply something the results are usually less than stellar. However, I recently tried out Xen-Tan and I’m completely obsessed. I love that it’s tinted so that you can SEE where you’re applying (and already applied) the lotion. This factor is key for the lazy alike.
On top of the fab product line, Xen-Tan recently launched a new Web site. The new site has a great chart to help make choosing products very simple for both wholesale and retail customers. Along with the chic new look, the Web site also has a complete ingredient list and information on health/sun and fabulous self-tanning tips from creator Dera Enochson!

So I’ve never really liked using full-fledged foundation. I think it’s because my skin is very fair with freckles and whenever I’ve tried using a thicker foundation, it always end up looking fake and totally covers my freckles, which I’ve really grown to love. Anyhow, there are three tinted moisturizers that I’ve recently tried and am completely obsessed with. Tinted moisturizers are great for people like myself who need a little coverage to even out skin tone but who prefer a more natural look. Check out my faves below.
Clinique even better makeup SPF 15: Not quite a tinted moisturizer but might as well be with the results. This oil-free product improves the clarity of skin, helps improve clarity and diminish age spots in just 4 to 6 weeks time.
Prescriptives All Skins Mineral Makeup SPF 10: Brand new this month,
this longwearing liquid mineral makeup is infused with vitamins, minerals and the exclusive R.E.C. (Radiance Emitting Crystals –a unique complex of Amethyst, Rose Quartz and Calcite) to give skin extra luminosity.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15: This light-weight tinted moisturizer hydrates skin and imparts a natural-looking hint of color, oompa loompas need not apply. The SPF 15 is an added bonus for some superior sun protection.
So it’s summer time…officially anyway (let’s not discuss the rain sitch in NY) and I’m a big water drinker normally but as everyone knows, it’s super important to make sure you’re hydrated during the hot months. There’s something so zen-like to me about adding sliced cucumbers to your water. Doesn’t it just scream luxury spa? And it’s so simple. I’m totally making cucumber water this holiday weekend and passing it off as the “food” I’m bringing to my sister’s apartment. She’ll thank me later. It’s totally diet friendly!
