COVERGIRL & OLAY Tone Rehab Foundation: Sadly, the word “rehab” is kind of synonymous with Hollywood but I still think it makes waaaay more sense when it comes to skincare. I’m pretty much dying to see all 12 looks, especially since I’ve only seen Fishing and Luxury so far. You can’t miss it.
Growing up, back-to-school season was always my favorite. There’s something incredibly exciting and rejuvenating about the fact that you get to have a fresh start at school; It’s a NEW year, which means a new YOU, at least when it comes to fashion. Granted, I’ve been out of school for a while, which I’m still sad about, but I tried to channel my high school-self for a little inspiration. I always tried to look modern, fun and put together, but not like I was trying too hard. Here are my picks, all from American Eagle (hi, affordable and easy!), where I went crazy over all the denim and back-to-school basics.
American Eagle Baseball T-Shirt: I love this modern take on a baseball t-shirt. The fabric is slightly see-through (but still appropriate) and the cap sleeves are a really pretty navy for a little pop of color.
American Eagle Skinny Crop Jean: I was immediately drawn to these jeans since they’re the perfect shade of denim for me. I like a darker blue, but not too dark, and I love the strategically placed rips that are also still totally school-appropriate.
American Eagle AEO Studded Bangle Set: I’m wearing two sets of these bangles that combine gold and silver and give the outfit just a little hint of shine.
Sole Society Martine Flat: I wanted to add a little texture to this outfit and I love the way the snake print compliments the jeans and adds a little bit of sophistication to the baseball tee.
If you read my blog, then you know that I’m a perpetual user of the most amazing invention in the world, self-tanner. To be honest, there isn’t enough time in the day for me to tell you every single mishap that I’ve had while trying out various brands and products…let’s just say, there have been many. My personal favorite story is 100% the time that I did what I call a “slop job” (e.g. quickly apply self-tanner in a hurry) before my BF at the time came to visit me at college. It was summer and we were going to a big outdoor all-day concert and I will never forget what he said to me:
Ex BF: Are you really going to wear that skirt?
Me: Yeah…why?
Ex BF: Your self-tanner looks terrible…people are going to think I punched you in the legs.
Fact. That happened…which is exactly why I’m super pumped to test out Jergens line of new Natural Glow Moisturizers over the next three months; great color with no gross self-tanner smell. Make sure you check back to see my progress using the new line!
It’s chilly weeks like this that make me really want to go toVegas. Seriously, I just love it there and funny enough, I haven’t even really done much gambling the last few times I went…but that really needs to change. Here’s what’s on my to-do list for my next trip to the big L-V:
Stay at the Cosmo: obviously, it’s the girliest hotel on the strip but it’s also the NICEST. I could honestly live in their hotel rooms and die one very happy lady. The rooms are spacious and all have chic bathrooms and modern electronics, which I can never figure out how to use, but still love. It’s all about the options.
See a good comedian: The first time I ever went to Vegas, I was lucky enough to seeGeorge Carlin, one of the funniest comedians ever. Vegas gets all the best comics, including Jerry Seinfeld, who’s on my bucket list of people to see ASAP. You should also always check what concerts are happening before you go…No Doubt JUST played Vegas and I’m sure that would’ve been an amazing show.
Dine at Milos: It’s also in the Cosmo, go figure, but they have the best Greek/Mediterranean cuisine and the view from the restaurant is just stunning. My friend Ashley and I were obsessed with the “Milos Special”- lightly fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki and kefalograviera cheese. It’s a-mazing.
Ugh, just writing this post is making me want to hop on a plane right now. In the meantime, I was recently introduced to a fun gambling site – don’t judge me. PartyCasino.comis a UK-based site and you don’t need to download anything weird that will mess up your computer (hello, Napster) and they have more than 160 casino games online, which I love.
