I’ve always had a thing for the combo of black and white when it comes to fashion but this spring, it’s honestly just been EVERYWHERE, which is fab. I had a black and white-themed 30th birthday party, had a mini BFF black and white birthday dinner and, now, I find myself wandering around the interwebs in search of my next black and white purchase…it’s a sickness. Here are my latest favorites:
4. Rosegold Zane Woven Booties: At first glance, I had mixed feelings on the heel of these babies…but after a few minutes, I become a fan. I love the woven chevron and would wear these with jeans AND with a bright colored dress.
I can’t express in words the joy that came to my face when I opened my mail and came across this special 6-piece collection from Tarte Cosmetics for QVC. Like, the packaging just makes me so happy and I plan on using the bag as a summer clutch. What does it include? Oh, pretty much everything that you need:
Amazonian Butter Lipstick in “Plummy Rose”
Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Broad-Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation (I got the “fair” shade, which is perfect)
Lights, Camera, Flashes! Statement Mascara in “Black”
One Brow Architect Brow Shaper
12-Hour Amazonian Clay Blush in “Fearless”
Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush- OBSESSED with this. LOOK at the fabric handle?!
Bag- it doubles as a really cute clutch and, even though I’m not really a pink girl, I totally love it.
Philip Crangi frame: Neiman Marcus for Target collection? Yes, please. I’m in LOVE with this frame.
Thale Blanc Pouchette: I’m always looking for the perfect concert purse. One that will hold the necessities (credit card, cash, cell phone and lip gloss) and this pouchette is perfect for such an event. I love the cross-body chain strap and it’s just the right size for everything you would need.
I’m so into primers these days and, after trying this version from Tarte Cosmetics, I’m totally obsessed. The Clean Slate 12-Hour Perfecting Primer is in the most adorable packaging (obviously I’m already sucked in) and my skin actually feels silky after I put it on. I LOVE that feeling. And even though I don’t have particularly large pores, I do appreciate the fact that this primer really diffuses fine lines and lasts for up to 12 hours…cause really, there’s nothing worse than catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror around 8pm and realizing that your makeup is ALL OVER your face, and not in the spots that it SHOULD be.
Today, October 21st, marks the birth of the infamous Kim Kardashian. Here’s what I would give the E! reality star, if I actually knew her…or actually cared to buy her something. What do you get the woman that has everything? Well…even more stuff. Kanyewhisked her off to Rome for the weekend where I’m sure she’ll be showered in all of the Italian fashion anyone could ever dream of. What would you give Kim K for her b-day?
Question:Hi Jamie! I’m going to Hawaii…I like to wear makeup but don’t want to look done up. What are my options?
Great question because that’s something that every girl struggles with, especially if you have problem skin (like most of us do). Here are my top picks:
L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Clear Self-Tanning Gel: Honestly, the easiest way to avoid wearing makeup is to “perfect” your skin…and going a shade or two darker is the best way to camoflauge imperfections. I’d self-tan the night before you leave (after showering, shaving and scrubbing) to prep your skin.
ARCONA REOZONE 40: You can’t forget the SPF (cause I won’t let you!)! ARCONA makes several good SPF products that are broad-spectrum (protects you from both UVA and UVB rays) and are also suitable for all skin types.
Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20: My girl Maura wrote up this product in Lucky a few months back and I decided that I needed to try it. She was absolutely right- it goes on light and it’s super moisturizing. I DO need to add concealer on top since it is so light and I have a few hyperpigmentation spots that need some extra coverage but I’m really enjoying this clay-based tinted moisturizer.
Coco CHANEL Silver Art Print from Etsy: I’ll always have a special place in my heart for anything CHANEL after interning at New York corporate headquarters while in college. This print is subtle yet still incredibly chic. It will live in my living room.
