Free Rides at New York Fashion Week!

If you’re going to New York Fashion Week this year, you should totally take advantage of the free rides from U by Kotex!  Alas, I am NOT going…and honestly, I’m pretty happy about it.  I’ve been traveling way too much and I’m looking forward to relaxing.  Also, I just found out that I’m going to be attending the Grammys (and the after party) so stay tuned for photos.

Contest Alert: Patricia Field teams up with U by Kotex

So I just got word that legendary costume designer Patricia Field (of “Sex and the City” fame) has teamed up with U by Kotex to give girls the opportunity to help change and inspire the future of the feminine care category through an online design challenge that just launched.  Girls can get get creative and start designing at BanTheBland.com for a chance to work with Patricia to design the new product for 2012 AND attend Fashion Week in New York City!

As an added bonus, U by Kotex will donate $1 for everyone that submits or likes a design to go towards Girls For A Change – a national non-profit organization that empowers girls to create and lead social change within their communities.

U by Kotex

So I recently found out about this great new campaign from Kotex and I had to share.  After watching this video, I was immediately taken back to my teen years when I basically had to scream in pain to get my Dad to buy me tampons (or I suppose pads back in the earlier years).  It brings up an interesting question- WHY are men so friggin’ scared to touch these things?  They certainly aren’t scared to touch the body part tampons are involved in, right?  Kotex created this great campaign to empower women and girls everywhere to take control of their bodies.  For every person who signs the declaration and joins the movement, U by Kotex will make a $1 donation to Girls For A Change.
