Since my #Caturday photos on Instagram are constantly some of my most-liked posts I know you guys aren’t sick of seeing Gemma and Gea yet … or maybe you are and you’re just being polite. Let me tell you, Gea did NOT adjust well. I’ve moved with cats before and never have I seen a cat get so depressed and scared. At one point I was actually concerned and called the vet after a few days of her hiding underneath a blanket (which I named “the cat cave”), only coming out for food maybe for 10 minutes a day. I was worried, guys. Gea is one sensitive little thing, but the vet said as long as she was eating and drinking water, I shouldn’t be too worried and to just let her sulk it out (which she did for exactly two weeks before finally going back to normal).
It made me happy that Gea was at least eating. Even though I mostly had to feed her under the couch, she does love her Purina Pro Plan Classic Wet Food. Gemma and Gea both actually like a nice pate and aren’t so much into any kind of chunky food for some reason. #Divas. A lot of people think wet cat food is “gross” since it has more of an odor than dry food but, truthfully, I’ve always fed my cats both kinds of food since wet food is actually a great source of hydration for cats. Since my cats are inside-only and most certainly not consuming any “prey,” feeding them wet food twice a day is a great way to make sure they’re staying hydrated, even when they don’t drink a ton of water. Plus, as a bonus, they just LOOOVE the wet food. I feel like they think it’s a treat when they get it because they meow and beg if I wake up even a few minutes later than normal.
