SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E

Skinceuticals Resveratrol

SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E. Get to know it.  You’ve probably read about this latest (and greatist) antioxidant breakthrough in skincare, and I’m here to tell you why it’s a must-have.  Resveratrol is a potent antioxidant found in grapes, red wine, nuts, and other plant sources, and has gained a reputation as the “longevity molecule” because of the role it has been found to play in determining longevity and health span.  Researchers believe that resveratrol can positively influence the processes that cause age-related deterioration and functional decline.  So what does all that mean?  SkinCeuticals worked for YEARS to find the right balance for this unstable ingredient since it’s proven to be basic gold for your skin.

You Need This: GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment

glamglow thirstymud

I don’t feature very many products in my “You Need This” series quite simply because, well, I take telling someone that they NEED something VERY seriously.  Life is full of little luxuries, especially when it comes to beauty, and this GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD HYDRATING TREATMENT is honestly a-mazing, and worth every penny.  So what is it?  Quite simply, an ingredient-packed moisture mask.  What makes it awesome is that it’s full of hyaluronic acid, a moisturizer that melts into skin, and clay particles that help lock in the moisturizing ingredients, leaving your skin soft and glowing.  Now, THIRSTYMUD (I also love the name, btw), specifically calls out that it can be used on airplanes (e.g. “in flight”), which brings up an interesting question:

Have you ever used a facial mask on an airplane?

I, for one, have NOT.  I was at an event earlier today and brought up the question to a few other beauty bloggers, and two of the ladies said that they have, in fact, used a mask on a plane.  “A” cited that she didn’t care what she looked like but, for me, I’m more concerned about the fact that I’ll most likely forget that I have the mask ON and do something spazzy like touch my face or decide I need to put a scarf on.  That’s classic me and after thinking about it some more, I’m now really curious about trying out a plane mask or, as I decided to call it, a “Plask.”  GlamGlow says that you can apply the mask at the beginning of the flight and leave on for the full duration, which I assume means leave it on for as long as you want since a flight can range anywhere from 45 minutes to what?  24 hours?  I’m headed to New York in May for a family function so I’m gonna test out this mask (ahem), PLASK, then.

3 Skincare Favorites

We all know one thing: skincare is my favorite.  I love, LOVE testing the latest and “greatest,” especially when a brand comes out with something new and innovative.  I try not to play favorites (ok, most of the time), but right now I’m loving a these three products, and here’s why:

Boscia Tsubaki beauty oil

boscia Tsubaki beauty oil

Like so many people, I spent my whole life being terrified at the idea of putting oil on my face.  And then, a few years ago, I realized the magical powers that a good facial oil can have, especially for dry, sensitive skin like mine.  But guys, even acne-prone skin can handle a good facial oil so don’t be scared to try one out.  I recently tested out Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil and oooooohmygod, it’s awesome.  So what is it, exactly?  An anti-aging botanical blend that works to provide serious hydration and protection against free radical damage for ALL skin types.

This beauty oil is an awesome source of  fatty and omega 3 acids, which are fab for the skin, and Wakame (Japanese sea kelp) in the product works to repair past damage by replenishing protein and helping to support natural collagen production. Rice bran oil restores the look of skin for a glowing, gorgeous complexion with its lightweight, non-greasy texture.  By the way, Tsubaki (Camellia) oil has been an essential part of Japanese beauty rituals for centuries…so that’s gotta mean something.

Inspired By: Olive Oil

Inspired by olive oil

Olive oil is absolutely a major staple in my diet, not only because it’s easy and delicious, but also because it has a myriad of health and beauty benefits.  For starters, the original cultivation of olive oil is said to date back to the 7th century B.C.  (yep B.C.!) and it’s not just good on Italian food; olive oil contains a massive amount of antioxidants that help to rejuvenate, hydrate and restore the skin and hair.  Here are a few of my favorite olive oil beauty products:

1. Bobbi Brown Lip Balm

2. Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado & Olive Oil Triple Milled Soap

3. Fekkai Glossing Sheer Shine Mist

4. Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak

5. Tata Harper Rejuvenating Serum

6. Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser
