Volume Filler

IMG_0318

For as much as I talk about my fine hair, you’re probably wondering if I ever come across new products to help boost volume…and the answer is yes. I’m always skeptical when I read about the “next big thing” in hair care, but L’OREAL always does a really good job, so I wasn’t that skeptical this time around.  The Advanced Haircare collection has a shampoo/conditioner set for pretty much every hair need, but when given the choice I immediately selected the new VOLUME FILLER Shampoo and Conditioner line because, well, I have fine, thin hair and that’s exactly what this set is for. So what makes this particular volume boosting shampoo and conditioner unique?  Here’s the science: Filloxane and Arginine-K Complex penetrate the hair fiber from root to core to tip for healthier looking hair.  The formula works to create texture from within to generate a thicker feel and infuses lasting volume over time.  The line has also been clinically tested and users say that your hair feels two times thicker after you use this product, and I definitely have to agree.  I mean…look at my photo below.

(Video) Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream Review

If you’ve never tried a BB cream, then you should…especially since I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve tried a BB for BODY. So genius.  The JERGENS BB BODY PERFECTING SKIN CREAM is my new favorite because it basically made me feel 10 lbs. thinner in about five days, true story.  The claims: visible benefits in five days!  The cream helps even out skin, firm and correct, in addition, of course, to actually hydrating your skin the same way a regular moisturizer would.  Watch my video to hear the rest of my thoughts!

Clearasil #WinTheDay

Clearasil 2

One of my new year goals was to “own my morning” and, admittedly, I’ve been kind of sucking at it lately.  I’ve NEVER been a morning person and probably never will be, but, guys,  I really do want to be better at getting up and being active before 11am.  Even when I get up early (like, you know, 8am) I’m awake but not really functioning…it’s kind of like I’m on autopilot and then I go on Instagram and see that some of my friends have already photographed a gorgeous breakfast (come on, we KNOW you don’t eat like that every day!), worked out (again, please) and have been prancing around town ever since. Seriously, HOW do people do so much so early in the morning…I’ll just never understand it.

When CLEARASIL approached me about their #WinTheDay campaign, I instantly got inspired because, finally, I’d have some motivation to get shit done before The View comes on. Ok, I don’t actually watch The View, but you know what I’m saying.

Clearasil

CLEARASIL is one of those iconic skincare brands that I still enjoy, even though I’m currently acne-free (knock on wood).  I naturally had to photograph products from their awesome Superfruit collection against a print of one of my favorite Clueless quotes, circa high school, and my awesome jaguar print stapler because, obviously, sitting down at my desk first thing is a GREAT way to #WinTheDay.  For the entire month of March I’m making a promise to myself (and to you guys) that I’m going to get up early and immediately sit down at my desk so I can #WinTheDay and stay motivated.  By the way, here’s a link where you can get a FREE bottle of the CLEARASIL Superfruit cleanser! It’s awesome, trust me.

What do YOU do to #WinTheDay?

VOYAGE Swimwear

VOYAGE swimwear

Summer is almost here (that’s for you, East coast)…but summer here in Los Angeles is pretty much all year and, funny enough, I’ve been in the mood for a new bikini.  Taking it back a minute, I have an obscene amount of bikinis, like OBSCENE, but I always wear the same two or three, which is pretty typical Jamie.  But then, I was introduced to VOYAGE SWIMWEAR.

Turns out my friend Brittany Harris, from college, started the swimwear line and the story literally floors me.  Brittany was living down in Florida after we graduated from Hofstra and started designing her own bikinis, just because she felt like it.  People would come up to her at the beach or at hotel pools and ask her where she got her bikini…and that was the start of VOYAGE Swimwear.  The line is currently sold at THE FOUR SEASONS Shanghai, Mumbai and Beijing, which is pretty much the most glamorous thing I’ve heard all week. Obsessed.  Oh, and let’s not forget the map pattern fabric, inspired by her childhood travels with her grandparents!

I’m an avid supporter of small businesses (hello, I’m my OWN small business), which is why I’m excited to share VOYAGE’s Kickstarter campaign.  Brittany is hoping to debut VOYAGE in a renowned international fashion show during the famous CANNES FILM FESTIVAL in Cannes, France this May. The funds will go towards the fashion show participation fee and travel costs.  If you can, let’s all support a small business (that’s awesome) trying to make shit happen.

Just Wink

Truth be told, I’ve never been a big fan of VALENTINE’S DAY (Anti Valentine’s Day Gift Guide 2014 to come) and all of the forced “love” that goes along with it…I mean, shouldn’t we love our friends, families and significant others EVERY day?  All that aside, one of my favorite Valentine’s Day memories is from college.  I had a really rough day in class and I came back to my dorm room and found a dozen red roses from my dad. It was a really sweet gesture and definitely made up for the fact that my day royally sucked otherwise.  But I digress, and I’ll save the ranting for a different post.  What I AM a fan of is new apps, especially when they involve letting me create fun things to send my friends and family.

card

My new favorite app, justWink, has nearly 675 card options to choose from, as well as the ability to add your actual signature, photos, etc. and can be sent via text, email, Facebook or Twitter, really giving you no excuse not to send a Valentine or two.  Another feature that I really love is the fact that you can actually have the card send to someone via (gasp) snail mail for only $3.49, which is way less than actual greeting cards cost in store.  This feature only takes about 3-5 days and you can even attach a gift card!

Download the app here.

Beauty favorites from Walgreens Beauty

Sometimes the drugstore beauty aisle can be a little overwhelming, it’s true, but I was recently introduced to the fact that WALGREENS has the most amazing sales on beauty and personal care products. And by amazing, I mean 20% off amazing…every week.  I’m obsessed so spread the word.

A Cat Holiday

Jamie Stone and Gea Ballerina

If you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I LOVE my two cats, Gemma and Gea.  Here’s the thing, cats sometimes get a bad wrap, which I strongly disagree, and that’s exactly why I’m really into the fact that Fancy Feast® is launching Feastivities.com.  I mean, it’s the ultimate gift destination for cat lovers with seven cat-inspired curated gifts…all of which I would be thrilled to receive, mind you.  Cats are definitely having a “moment” when it comes to fashion and I love each item featured in the gift guide, which includes fashion-forward cat items: cat jewelry by Salty Kisses Hawaii, Gingiber art print of a cute white cat, a Little Lark black cat tote, made by Cleo cat collar, Feline Intent cat teepee (this is awesome, btw), Rover cat bow tie and Silver Lotus cat jewelry.

The site is also offering a super cute ornament for a $2 donation while supplies last, and 100% of the donations will go directly to AdoptAPet.com, North America’s largest non-profit pet adoption charity that helps more than 13,000 shelter and rescue animals find homes. Bonus.

The holidays are all about treating your loved ones well, and that includes your cat(s) too.  I’m definitely putting some time aside for my girls, even if it’s something small like five minutes of toy chasing or an extra few minutes of a belly rub because, yes, my cats are weirdos and like their bellies rubbed.

P.S. Isn’t my Gea (aka Gigi Ballerina) the cutest?
