Because, I mean, I was dying to see what all the hoopla was about…
We all know how the internet basically broke (again) when Kylie Jenner launched her now infamous Kylie Lip Kit products and, naturally, I was intrigued. Intrigued enough, in fact, to spend $29 of my hard-earned money on a “Koko K” set (a pale pink shade named after sister Khloe, who they refer to as “Koko”) once the site was finally stocked enough for me to actually get one. I don’t wait in line for bars, so I certainly don’t get up to hit “refresh” on a website to get a lip set. That’s a fact.

Fast forward a few days to when I got my Lip Kit in the mail. When the box arrived at my new apartment I instantly knew it was from King Kylie; the black packaging, the “personalized” letter from Kylie…I was already all in, I am fully prepared to admit. But I wondered…will the Lip Kit look as good on me as it does on the Kardashian-Jenners if I don’t have big, full lips like they do?
Noticeably fuller.
Step two: The Liquid Matte Lipstick. I’ve never been really into matte lips mostly because my lips are always dry and the matte product usually accentuates any cracks or dryness in my lips. After the first time I tried this version from Kylie J, I was honest-to-god shocked that my lips didn’t look dry or flaky. The matte lipstick goes on smooth, stays wet for a minute or two (looking like a gloss), and then dries matte. It also contains moisturizing ingredients so that your lips don’t, in fact, dry out and get rough.
The wet phase, right before it turns matte.
The finished matte look. I don’t usually like photos of myself where I’m not smiling but you can really see the difference in fullness this way and, of course, the matte finish. I’m officially sold on Kylie’s Lip Kits…sorry, haters.
