Because less is almost always more…
I’m all about less being more when it comes to highlighting and strobing, mostly because it’s REALLY easy to end up looking too shimmery with most of this stuff. Here are a few of my highlighting tricks:
To slim your nose and face
Apply and blend a line of product directly down your nose (you only want a little bit).
To “lift” your brows
Apply just a little directly under the end of your eyebrow (furthest from your nose).
To brighten your eyes
Use a small makeup brush to apply the product in the little “v” area at the inner corner of your eyes.
To make your cheekbones stand out
You want to smile (big!) then apply the product to the outer edge of cheek apples.

Benefit Watt’s Up! Highlighter: This stuff is one of the gold standard’s of strobing and highlighting, according to just about every makeup artist. The champagne colored cream-to-powder highlighter gives that soft focus effect and works on pretty much every complexion, crazy enough.
L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator: This version from L’Oreal Paris comes in three shades but I especially love Ice since it works best for pink or blue undertones (I’m pink). You can wear this liquid version alone for some fun sheen or over makeup for subtle shimmer.
Mary Kay Facial Highlighting Pen: I love a good pen product. Mary Kay’s version optically “lifts” the shadowed areas of your face and really gives you a brighter look. You can also use it as a concealer for any minor skin imperfections, but it’s definitely not covering up any monster zits.
