The 6 Best Drugstore Beauty Products Used at the Oscars

First of all, how insane was Hailee Steinfeld’s dress? Show stopper. When it came to her hair, celebrity hair stylist Chris Appleton was inspired by the intricate detailing of her dress to create a sleek and sculpted modern updo style. “We went for a bold style to complement the mixture of classic and modern vibe given from her gown.”

Appleton applied TONI&GUY Style Spray Wax throughout the top section of her hair for a high-shine effect and began curling her hair using a 1-inch curling iron.

Here are the other drugstore beauty product winners from this year’s Oscars…

The first-time Oscar winner, Emma Stone, looked like perfection, in my opinion.  L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Hairstylist Mara Roszak said she was inspired by Stone’s dress.  “The dress has a beautiful long silhouette and overall 40s ‘goddess’ feel. To complement the dress, I made the hair feel brushed out with a very soft, dreamy wave.”

To start, Roszak prepped Emma’s damp hair with L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Inject Volume Mousse all over and parted the hair to the side.

Makeup artist Jeanine Lobell created this amazing look for Nicole Kidman.  “The idea of the look was modern retro using the red lip as the focal point.  The golden Indian vibe of the dress gave a nod to the dolled light dusting of shadow.”

Lobell applied Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush in Rosy to the apples of Kidman’s cheeks to add to the softness of the look.

Below, Janelle’s makeup artist Jessica Smalls shares the inspiration behind her stunning look from the red carpet, where she slayed with a trendsetting look.
“I wanted to keep Janelle’s lip look soft with a peach toned nude lip, I started by lining and filling in her lips with COVERGIRL LipPerfection Liner in Smoky and then applied a swipe of COVERGIRL All Day Color & Gloss in Profound Peach to give a muted touch of color that would last throughout the entire award show,” explained Smalls.

Olivia Culpo full-on took the eye makeup award of the night and, according to L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Makeup Artist Sir John, “We decided to go for a lavender wash on the eyes, nude lips and glowing skin to complement Olivia’s vintage-inspired dress. I would call this look Ice Princess meets ‘Great Gatsby’.”

For Culpo’s eyes, Sir John created a washed lavender look using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Eye Shadow in Shady Violet.
