My Facial Care Routine in Iceland

When it comes to my face, you guys know I take my skin very seriously. Funny enough, I feel like I’m even MORE selective as far as products when I travel because you have to find products that are travel-friendly (i.e. smaller than 3.5 oz. and won’t randomly explode inside your bag) AND actually do their job. Easier said than done, trust me.

I decided to partner with Mary Kay for all my face care needs on my trip to Iceland because, quite frankly, they have amazing products that hit every skincare need that I have: moisturize, hydrate dry skin (Iceland is COOOOLD), and protect.

Here’s what I used on my sensitive/dry face while wandering around Iceland’s city of Reykjavik (and their famous Hallgrimskirkja church that you see in the photos!)/going on tours of the countryside:

Sun Care Lip Protector Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15: I love a lip protector with broad spectrum SPF! Seriously, I will always grab one up when I see them because, crazy enough, many lip balms don’t have adequate sun protection and your lips CAN burn, guys. #BeenThere

Indulge Soothing Eye Gel: This eye gel SAVED (legit saaaaved) my under-eyes on the plane ride to and and from Iceland. I get the worst puffy eyes when I fly and the cooling, soothing gel feels amazing as soon as you put it on. This is 100% a must-carry when you travel.

TimeWise Day Solution Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35: Like I mentioned above with the Lip Protector lip balm, making sure that I have broad spectrum (i.e. protection from both UVA and UVB rays) is always a top skincare priority and shouldn’t stop when you travel. This fab version from Mary Kay is carry-on friendly and especially good for people (like myself) who have very sensitive skin and/or rosacea. The TimeWise Mary Kay line in general is specifically formulated to smooth, firm, energize and renew the skin so when I was searching for the perfect travel-friendly daily moisturizer I was pretty stoked to find this version.

Facial Cleansing Cloths: I always like to pretend that I’m not too lazy to wash my face with a gel or creamy wash when I travel but, honestly, cleansing cloths are just SO MUCH EASIER (plus it’s one less thing to potentially combust in your suitcase). Love these!

Extra Emollient Night Cream: I love a super rich night cream and I actually tried this Mary Kay version for the first time ever my first night in Iceland and was floored at how thick and creamy it is! Funny enough, even though it is super thick, it absorbed at lightening speed (a common complaint for people) and I even applied it to my dry feet (courtesy of my flight) for some extra jelly-like hydration.

Thank you to Mary Kay for sponsoring this post!
