Because spring is all about rejuvenation…
In an insanely dorky way, I actually get really excited when it’s time to switch up my skincare regimen based on the season or what’s going on with my skin. Here’s what I’m currently trying out (and you should try, too)…
Your Spring Skincare Check List
Try a plumping moisturizer
Sure, sure…you already use a regular moisturizer at night (probably with retinol, if you read this blog regularly) but spring is a great time to take a break from the retinols and glycolic acid products and, instead, mix up your routine with a product that contains super-plumping hyaluronic acid, which is also great at filling in those fine lines and wrinkles.
Right now I’m loving Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum since it’s formulated with three sizes of hyaluronic acid and visibly plumps and hydrates while reducing the appearance of three different types of wrinkles: crow’s feet, fine lines, and deep wrinkles.
A few other hyaluronic acid moisturizers I like:
Use a dry body oil
Since the weather is getting warmer you no longer need that deep, super creamy lotion you’ve been using all winter. I love a dry oil spray since it gives you a glow-y look, without the grease. I’ve been using and loving H20 Plus Teak Rose On The Move Dry Body Oil because, one, the scent (so good) and two, it absorbs really quickly!
A few other dry body oils I like:
Switch up your hand cream
Even though I tend to lighten up on body lotion, I actually like to do the opposite when it comes to my hands; i.e. moisturize the sh*t out of them.
I heard about Lanolin products when I was in Australia but couldn’t find this stuff anywhere! It was a travesty, let me tell you. Thankfully they now have PR in the U.S. and I was able to test out Lanolin Lano Hands Rose Hand Cream, an intense hand cream that transforms very dry hands and nails to super-soft, deeply and truly hydrated hands and nails. It’s REALLLY good, guys. The triple lanolin and rose oil blend leaves a “silky veil” on your skin for continual moisture and the formula is 98.5% natural.

Energize your feet and legs
Summer can take a real toll on your feet and legs, especially if you do a lot of walking and are super active outside. This Mary Kay Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs is my go-to for when my feet feel, well, beat. The cool mint formula is insanely refreshing and I actually really look forward to slathering this stuff on after a long day of being active.
A few other foot creams I like:
Deep clean your pores
Spring clean those pores, ladies. This Philosophy Purity Made Simple Pore Extractor clay mask draws out any and all impurities, scrubs away blackheads and generally just makes your skin look smooth and perfect. This product, in particular, features purifying white clay, salicylic acid, and natural exfoliants that are all really amazing at making sure you’re blackhead-free, yet still fairly gentle.
A few other pore cleansing products I like:
Try a dewy skin look
I go through phases of loving dewy versus matte skin but spring is definitely all about the DEW. The Pixi Glow Mist is a current fave since it’s enriched with 21 natural oils plus aloe vera and fruit extracts. I usually apply it before makeup but it also works really well to SET your makeup as well…and, of course, gives you that extra dewy look.
