Beauty Products For Athletes

Because working out makes you sweaty and sore, fact…

As someone who would hardly call herself an athlete (please), I will say that I’ve been on a big working out kick these last few weeks and, seriously, it feel like my body is never NOT sore.  These products have been tested (by me, natch) and actually make working out be not such a giant pain in the ass.

Murad Clarifying Body Spray: One thing that’s not sexy? Body acne.  I don’t usually have an issue but anyone who works out knows that sweat can cause break outs and I’ve definitely seen a random zit on my back or (yep, I’ll say it) my butt. Fun times!  What’s cool about this spray though is that you can hit a 360° angle, making those hard-to-reach spots not so hard-to-reach any more.

The spray uses salicylic acid, which is one of the best acne-fighters, along with menthol which cools and comforts irritated skin for an overall soothing effect.  The quick drying formula means no waiting before dressing—take it with you to the gym and refresh your treatment after your workout.  LOVE this stuff.

Lather Muscle Ease Gel: This herbal pain relieving gel is formulated with centuries-old plant extracts used by the native tribes of Northern Mexico to help relieve minor aches and pains of muscles and joints. Oh and it is FAST-acting, which is awesome, and you can use it for temporary relief from backaches, arthritis, strains, bruises and sprains.  My favorite spot for this stuff? My hips! They are SO tight lately and this stuff really does the trick.

YUNI Muscle Recovery Gel: Similar to the Lather gel BUT it’s in the form of a roller-ball, making it fab for any muscles, tendons and ligaments that feel over-extended or sore.  This blend of fair trade green tea extract and arnica eases the aftermath of a hard workout. Arnica naturally reduces inflammation while peppermint reduces perception of pain, to keep you mobile the next day.  YUNI is especially good after a yoga class since the aroma extends the spiritual nature of the practice.
