Spring Fling

bebe spring fling

There aren’t really many brands that I would drive almost two hours to see (and also on my birthday), but I do love me some BEBE.  Ok, so the event was actually only six miles from my house, but since my birthday/the event also happened to be on the same morning as the LA Marathon, I ended up getting lost in the Hollywood Hills trying to find a way to get south of Sunset Blvd…these are #LAProblems, OK?  Regardless, BEBE dressed me in this Strapless Tribal Mini Dress that made me feel like post-baby Kim Kardashian, but here’s the thing…I was completely hungover from my birthday party the night before.  I questioned whether or not to reveal exactly WHY I’m not sharing any full body shots with you guys but, truth be told, I look GOD AWFUL in them so #SorryImNotSorry I’m not posting them.  You can see part of me in the photo above, very strategically hiding behind Rachael and An, I might add…this ain’t my first rodeo.

I digress.  Hangover and insane heat aside, I love a good BEBE Spring Fling, hosted by Sydne Summer; we dined, we laughed, we chatted and, of course, we/I drank champagne to help cure the aftermath of my birthday party.

Also make sure to check out last year’s event HERE.

Three Questions With Brad Goreski

Brad Goreski

Fact: BRAD GORESKI is one of the most likable guys in fashion.  If you watched The Zoe Project and then Brad’s spin-off, It’s a Brad Brad World, then you’re probably just as obsessed with him as I am and so when SUAVE offered me the chance to ask Brad a few questions, I naturally jumped at the chance.  Brad decided to partner with the beauty brand because he loves the glamour of the red carpet and awards season, and they’ve introduced products this year that embody just that.

Q: Can you tell us any insider info on who you’re styling for the Oscars and other awards shows that are coming up?

A: I styled Lara Dern and Jenna Dewan-Tatum for the (Oscars) awards show last night. For Laura I chose a soft petal pink. Seeing her in such a romantic color was really exciting for me. It was a very edgy but beautiful. For Jenna we were going for a glamorous princess moment. As soon as she put this gown on we knew this was the one. It incorporated everything I love to see in a red carpet gown—drama, glitter and of course radiant, glowing skin.

Q: Who’s your style inspiration right now and why?

A: I would say Jared Leto. He’s got a coolness to his personality that seems to radiate through his personal look. Everything’s just so in sync. I also love Diane Kruger—she always seems to nail it no matter what she’s wearing. She’s got that ‘cool girl’ mentality that I love.

Q: If you could give your 22-year-old-self any advice, what would it be?

A: It would be to enjoy your 20s but the best is yet to come!

VOYAGE Swimwear

VOYAGE swimwear

Summer is almost here (that’s for you, East coast)…but summer here in Los Angeles is pretty much all year and, funny enough, I’ve been in the mood for a new bikini.  Taking it back a minute, I have an obscene amount of bikinis, like OBSCENE, but I always wear the same two or three, which is pretty typical Jamie.  But then, I was introduced to VOYAGE SWIMWEAR.

Turns out my friend Brittany Harris, from college, started the swimwear line and the story literally floors me.  Brittany was living down in Florida after we graduated from Hofstra and started designing her own bikinis, just because she felt like it.  People would come up to her at the beach or at hotel pools and ask her where she got her bikini…and that was the start of VOYAGE Swimwear.  The line is currently sold at THE FOUR SEASONS Shanghai, Mumbai and Beijing, which is pretty much the most glamorous thing I’ve heard all week. Obsessed.  Oh, and let’s not forget the map pattern fabric, inspired by her childhood travels with her grandparents!

I’m an avid supporter of small businesses (hello, I’m my OWN small business), which is why I’m excited to share VOYAGE’s Kickstarter campaign.  Brittany is hoping to debut VOYAGE in a renowned international fashion show during the famous CANNES FILM FESTIVAL in Cannes, France this May. The funds will go towards the fashion show participation fee and travel costs.  If you can, let’s all support a small business (that’s awesome) trying to make shit happen.

Disclosure: This post was sponsored but all opinions are my own, as per usual. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Queen of the Quarter Life Crisis possible.

Inspired By: Gwen Stefani’s pregnancy style

gwen stefani

I’m obviously always obsessed with all things GWEN STEFANI, but I got a pitch recently about the above photo that really made me realize something: Gwen has the BEST pregnancy style EVER.  Seriously, like ever.  She looks better pregnant that most people (myself included) look while they’re not pregnant and hommage must be paid.  I’m obsessed with the Mark and Estel Belled Mini Dress that Gwen is wearing (above) over leather pants with heels, of course.  Here are a few of my other favorite Gwen pregnancy looks…

Again with the leather leggings and it’s perfection.

The white jacket really accentuates her baby bump and her “fancy sweatpants,” as I like to call  them, are perfect.

Hands-down my absolute favorite. I’m a big fan of the red dress, especially on blondes, but this version is the most put together version I can possibly imagine.

Gwen has always been the queen of mixing patterns and I love the mixtures here, especially with her signature red lip.

I would Drape myself in velvet

I WOULD DRAPE MYSELF IN VELVET IF IT WERE SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE – GEORGE COSTANZA

Guys, the Fashion Week runways are overflowing with VELVET, and I’m loving every second of it.  Why, you ask?  Well, read my post about how to look chic while wearing pajamas where I also explain how I spent an entire semester of college wearing an orange Hofstra hoodie and black velour sweatpants…velour, the poor man’s velvet.  But velvet?  It’s just so luxe.  I think I first considered velvet as a wardrobe choice after watching THIS episode of  Seinfeld because, guys, velvet IS a choice.  It’s not easy to pull off but I’m absolutely going to venture out and try to “drape myself” as often and as much as possible.

Obsessed: Dainty Gold Rings and a Skull Bracelet

dainty rings-skull bracelet

I’ve recently been on the hunt for some dainty gold rings when BOOM, my friends at JUSTFAB sent me their latest lookbook and I saw the TRES TRIO for, get this…$10.  I mean. I can’t.  Three super cute rings for $10…there are just no words and now I’m wondering why I was ever looking at similar versions that cost like $60-$100 EACH, right?

I’m also obsessing over the SKULL ABOUT bracelet, also for $10. I think I’m still in shock at how cool these pieces are at such an affordable price, so I just had to share.

On another note, I took this photo myself (!) and this is the first post of many to come (hopefully) where you can witness the photography skills of Jamie Stone…get excited.
