Bacardi Spooki-Licious Punch

So here’s another delish Halloween cocktail that features one of my college staples, Bacardi.  Oh yes kids, just hearing the name takes me back to drunken nights getting cigarette smoke blown in my face (pre smoking laws in NY) and singing along to Whitesnake and Bon Jovi.  Oh, memories.  Here’s the recipe to create your very own Barcardi Spooki-Licious Punch.  Throw a fist up in the air as you take your first sip.

  • 3 and 1/4 parts Bacardi Superior
  • 1 part St. Germain
  • 1 part Aperol
  • 3/4 part simple syrup
  • 3/4 part lime juice
  • 2 parts blood orange juice or pineapple and cranberry juices
  • 1 and 1/2 parts Prosecco or ginger ale to taste

Add all ingredients into a punch bowl, stirring occasionally; add ice and Prosecco or ginger ale to taste.  Garnish with blood orange wheels and lychee fruit.

“Jersey Shore” Halloween costumes!

So the gods have answered my prayers.  Yes, friends, a company had the brains to create Jersey Shore Halloween costumes.  I’ll admit that I was thinking about possibly dressing up as JWoww because really, who doesn’t want to essentially dress like a stripper on Halloween?  But now that I’m seeing the Snooki WIG for the first time, I might just change my mind.  I’m still laughing at the Pauly D wig, by the way.

Halloween 2009: Lady Gaga…the look achieved

So Halloween.  I posted about how I was going to dress up as Lady GaGa and I’m happy to say that my costume was a huge success.  Sure, there were a few people who thought I was a member of KISS…and a few who thought I was trying to be Jem…but for the most part, I think people got it.  I owe a big thank you to the amazing product I used to make Lady GaGa’s famous black lightening bolt, Physician’s Formula Eye Definer Felt Tip Eye Marker.  My friend Kelley put her artistic skills to use and was shocked at how easy it was to draw the lightening bolt with this product.  Plus, it didn’t smudge, melt or move ALL night.  The photo isn’t great but you can see how awesome this product worked for my Lady GaGa look 😉

Halloween 2009: Philosophy i love candy corn

So, um this is awesome.  There’s something about this Philosophy i love candy corn 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath…I think it reminds me that I’m totally still a kid at heart and what’s more exciting for a kid than candy corn and Halloween?  Candy corn makes me go back to my elementary school days…how about you guys?  This would make a great gift for a Halloween party hostess too!

Halloween 2009: Lady Gaga

So I know it’s a little obvious but I totally want to be Lady Gaga for Halloween this year.  Last year, I was Eve (as in Adam and) and part of me also wants to use my Eve costume again since I made it, and it is totally awesome, AND no one in LA has seen it yet.  However, this is my first Halloween in a new city…and a new city that apparently may give NYC a run for it’s money when it comes to crazy costumes (enter West Hollywood).  Anyway, I already ordered a platinum blonde hair bow on Etsy so now all I need is some outfit inspriation.  It’s a little tough with Lady Gaga because I really could just wear anything short and loud, no?  Here’s what I’m thinking, after watching four Lady Gaga videos on MTV.com:

Hair bow, check.  Big black sunglasses, check.  I’m needing black fingerless leather/pleather gloves and might possibly do some kind of lightening bolt on my face.  My first thought for makeup is undoubtably Illamasqua.  If you haven’t already heard of the line, it screams drama and Lady Gaga.  Any ideas for my actual outfit?  Animal print?  Leather?  Fishnets?  I need some ideas!
