Belvedere vodka at Coachella!

So last year I had my first Coachella experience and loved it but alas, even though Coachella is next weekend (!), I’m still not sure if I’m going or not, haha.  All that aside, I got the inside scoop on the exclusive Belve Music Lounge, hosted at a private estate in Palm Springs.  This way, even if I don’t end up going, I can at least drink like I’m there.

Belve Beat

  • 1 oz. Belvedere Citrus
  • 2 oz. white cranberry juice (Ocean Spray brand)
  • 1 oz. pomegranate juice (Pom Wonderful brand)
  • Garnish with 2 lime wedges
  • Build an ice-filled 10 oz. highball glass
  • Squeeze lime wesdges and drop into drink

Belve Lemonade

  • 1.5 oz. Belvedere UF80
  • 3 oz. lemonade (Simply Lemonade brand)
  • 1 oz. apple juice
  • Garnish with a lemon wedge
  • Build an ice-filled 10 oz. highball glass

Grapefruit Rocks!

  • 2 oz. Belvedere Pink Grapefruit
  • Fill with tonic water (premium tonic)
  • Garnish with a grapefruit wedge
  • Build an ice-filled 10 oz. highball glass

Belve Bloody Mary

  • 1.5 oz. Belvedere Bloddy Mary
  • 1 oz. splash tomato juice
  • 0.5 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • Garnish with celery
  • Build an ice-filled 10 oz. highball glass

Shop It To Me’s Unregrettable Evening of Fashion

So I recently attended an “Unregrettable Evening of Fashion” hosted by Whitney Port, American Express and Shop It To Me with my friends Sydne and Kristen.  The event was such a cool concept- everyone received a $50 American Express gift card so they could live-shop on ShopItToMe.com and, as a bonus, everyone was asked to bring one item of clothing to be donated to Beyond Shelter, an LA-based charity.

I took the opportunity to break in my new shoe obsession– an amazing pair of grey zipper booties from Haute Look’s Sole Society!  Stay tuned for a post soon on my affiliation with the new shoe site (hint: I’m a fashion insider!).

note: I hate this photo but the shoes look fabulous and really, that’s all that matters.

Birthday highlights and a Head Refresher

So I got my highlights touched up the other day at Nelson J Salon in Beverly Hills.  The color?  Amazing.  What’s even better is that they use Aveda’s specal dye that is bleach-free and 97% natural…I mean, I’ve been really into the whole “natural” thing lately and I have to say, I’m very happy with the results.  Nelson Chan, the owner, was extremely nice and even took the time to show me how to use hot rolllers which, ironically, I’ve never used.  Hot rollers are a lot better for your hair, and especially if you have extensions, like I do at the moment.

If you’re in the LA area, I definitely say stop into Nelson J and ask for the Head Refresher, which is what originally caught my eye at this salon. This unique service includes Aveda’s 99% natural hair gloss, a relaxing rosemary and mint-oil scalp and head massage, along with a signature Nelson J blow out.
“This Aveda hair gloss is wonderful because it makes hair very shiny and also refreshes hair color for up to two months,” Chan says.  “Plus clients get into a state of bliss with the Aveda rosemary and mint-oil applied to their scalp combined with the relaxing head massage.”

Good news- the Head Refresher is on sale now until April 1st for only $49!  It usually goes for $100.  🙂

Formula LA haircare

So when I got the pitch for Formula LA, the first ever line of hair and skin products specifically for Los Angeles, I was all ears.  After two years of research, Formula LA was developed and guess what?  They’re also working on other products specfic for a ton of other cities and not gonna lie, I would die for this if I still lived in New York (hello humidity).  But the LA line is also fab- the science breaks down to the sun, the air and the water in the city of angels.

The LA sun is strong and can cause serious damage to your locks which is exactly why there’s sunscreen in the shampoo and conditioner to block out the harmful UV rays and preventing the damage that causes brittle, flat hair.

The LA is D-R-Y, let me tell you.  On top of that, LA has a major pollution problem (fact: I had a perma-cough for the first 3 weeks I lived here until my lungs got adjusted).  This formula was developed to counteract the exhaust and other pollution that’s in the air here.

The water.  Honestly, I haven’t noticed bad water but apparently others feel differently.  The formula here prevents minerals from binding to your hair, which is a majorly good thing.

The second annual Anti-Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

So last year I created the very first Anti-Valentine’s Day Gift Guide and boooooy was it a hit.  My friends emailed it around like it was a Lindsay Lohan crotch shot and so, with crotch mentioned, I present to you the second annual Anti-Valentine’s Day Gift Guide.

An amazing blowout

Blow dry blars are popping up all over…but in LA, nothing beats Drybar.  I recently visited their new West Hollywood location, which is much closer to my apartment, and I continue my adoration for this salon.  When you’re having a bad day nothing, I repeat nothing, beats an amazing blow out.

LUSH It’s Raining Men Honey Rich Shower Gel

I’m a self-proclaimed shower gel junkie and for as much as I like this product’s name, I equally like the smell.  It’s Raining Men is made with lotus flowers and a dash of honey to soothe dry skin while cleansing.

Kate Somerville Clinic

I had one of the best facials of my life at Kate Somerville’s Clinic in West Hollywood so when I was recently invited to a press event at the Clinic, I was pretty excited.  There’s something insanely relaxing and zen-like about the decor; it’s super girly and chic and just sitting in the waiting room puts me in a better mood, which is exactly why a facial or massage at the Clinic would make for an ideal Anti-Valentine’s Day gift.

Frederick’s of Hollywood Feather Fantasy

How very Black Swan, no? I’m not one for wild and crazy lingerie but with my recent feather obsession, I’m way into this bra and panty set.  Wear it for yourself and feel sexy doing it.

Baked By Melissa Valentine’s Day mini cupcakes

These cupcakes are my most favorite in the whole wide world and I can’t think of a better day this year to eat a few (or a small box) of these.  The Valentine’s Day version comes in a special Valentine’s Day box so you can also gift these to your mom, sister, single girlfriends, etc.  LOVE.
