So, I, Jamie Stone, live in Hollywood. Hollywood has its douchey rep, sure, but you know what’s pretty awesome (besides my apartment and the Hollywood Roosevelt)? h.wood.beauty. Inspired by Hollywood’s h.wood Tea Room, h.wood.beauty is their first intro into cosmetics. Genius, isn’t it? Every cool night club should have their own lip product line cause, well, why not? The best part is that the products are inspired by the teas that they actually serve at Tea Room and use only the purest ingredients combined with healing essential oils. Lip products aside, h.wood Tea Room is LA’s secret Wednesday night hideaway that serves “prohibition teas” to Hollywood’s trendy people. Two thumbs up.

ThinkThruFashion Accessory Swap Soiree with Michael Stars
So this past Tuesday I attended a very special event: ThinkThruFashion’s Accessory Swap Soiree with Michael Stars, which celebrated the first six months of the year-long ttF Fashion Staple Series. You’ve probably seen my posts that reference Sydne, my partner in crime but you probably didn’t know that every time we go out, I’m also taking photos of her amazing outfits for her blog, ThinkThruFashion.com – smart styling for today.
100 of LA’s top fashion and beauty bloggers, editors and tastemakers mingled and traded accessories poolside at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. And I have to say, I helped out with check-in for a bit and the accessories that people brought were actually really good! Lots of Lia Sophia and other designer goodies, a lot even still had tags on them. I scored an awesome gold necklace with two charms- one the state of California and the other charm, an apple. Bi-coastal, baby.
Yes, the event was to celebrate 6 months of of the ttF Staple Series but there was also a charity raffle that benefited Mariska Hargitay’s The Joyful Heart Foundation. $680 was raised and Sydne and Michael Stars each matched the amount, bringing the grand total raised to $2,000! Here are some more pics from the event:

Lilith Fair and Degree’s VIP tent
So my love for Degree deodorant is really just endless and everlasting. Not only are their products really and truly amazing but they’re also one of the few beauty companies that actually has a little fun and sponors some cool stuff. Enter my invite to Lilith Fair. I was super excited when Degree invited me to the concert on their behalf and granted me access to their VIP tent. Of course the amazing Nadine Jolie was also invited, which made the day even more fun for me. A girl’s gotta have her partner in crime, right? Degree sent a car to take me to the show (hey, it was in the OC people) and as soon as I arrived I saw a bunch of women in long, flowered skirts putting flowers in each other’s hair and was kinda scared. Yeah, I said it. As much as I admire Sarah McLachlan, indie girl rock isn’t really my thang…however, I was pleasantly surprised at the intelligent, amazing women that the show featured.
We were allowed access to the press conference before the show started and we got to listen to Sarah and the other ladies talk about empowering women and why they love playing Lilith. Good stuff. As for the actual music, it was great, but the best part of the day was definitely hanging out in the Degree VIP tent, eating all the sushi and other snacks, drinking wine and generally just hanging out with my fellow bloggers (Amber from BeautyJunkiesUnite, the Bender sisters of BeautyStyleWatch, Cindy from HelloDollface and, of course, Nadine) and the rock star publicists who work on Degree.

“The Hills” is dun-zo!
So over the years, I’ve written many a blog post about Lauren Conrad and The Hills and it’s with great sadness that I write this final post! (Tear). I know the show got kinda lame once LC left and Kristin took over but I was totally still addicted. Make sure you check out my Hills series finale hair care recap on TotalBeauty.com’s news column (which I also write for, fyi).

The Neil George Salon
So I’ve blogged time and time again about how I am on the constant quest to achieve the perfect blonde highlights…well, I may have found them at the Neil George Salon. I was lucky enough to have the brilliant Amanda George take a whirl at making my hair as golden as possible, with out it falling out, obviously. I had a 10:30AM appointment on a Saturday and when I walked in, the place was packed. “Who goes to the salon at the crack of dawn on a Saturday,” I thought. Well, I suppose 10:30 isn’t the actual crack of dawn…and then when I saw how amazing the staff was, I totally understood. The Beverly Hills salon services many of Hollywood’s celebs and was created by the British duo, Amanda George and Neil Weisberg. After Amanda gave me brilliant highlights, Neil cut my hair in that way that only a real professional does- he looked at my hair, ruffled it around a bit and just began cutting instinctually. I love watching genius in action and I especially love watching someone do what they love, which Amanda and Neil both obviously do.
It’s been about a month since my appointment and the color and cut still look amazing. Very impressed over here, ladies.

Calvin Klein is re-making the little white dress from “Clueless”!
So if you didn’t already know, Clueless is one of my all-time favorite movies…so when I heard that Calvin Klein was remaking the little white dress from Cher’s date with Christian (who later turned out to be gay), I let out a little yelp of excitement. Ilaria Urbinati, the co-owner of Confederacy, an LA boutique, met with Calvin Klein’s creative director, Francisco Costa, about stocking Calvin’s collection, he just so happened to make the very special, very specific request. “I sort of geeked out on him, (explaining) how my formative-years love of Calvin Klein was partly basedon the little white minidress Alicia Silverstone wears in Clueless,” Urbanati told InStyle.com. “I need you to remake the dress!” Apparently, he didn’t need much convincing…they got their hand on the original pattern and re-created it exclusively for Confederacy. The dress is available in the original white that Cher wore and in red. My god, I can seriously hear the entire scene in my head…
Mel: Cher, what’s that?
Cher: It’s a dress, Daddy.
Mel: Says who?
Cher: Calvin Klein.
Mel: It looks like underwear. Put something over it.
Oh, if I only had $915…

Jen’s Garden Party
So my friends Jen and Andy had a “welcome summer” garden party on Saturday afternoon that really impressed me. I definitely don’t consider myself domestic at all, in fact, I was known in college for always having a mini fridge that only had water, fruit and vodka inside of it. Jen, on the other hand, impressed the hell out of all of us with her cucumber and gin ice pops, flavored hummus and sangria, that proved to be the death of me, though delicious.
