So this will be my first Thanksgiving in 26 years that I haven’t spent with my family. Don’t get me wrong, I know Thanksgiving really isn’t that big of a deal but it’s really just starting to hit me that I’ll be missing out on all the antics over in New York. However, I’ve been invited to what we’re now referring to as “an Ohio Thanksgiving” right here in Los Angeles,LOL, where I’ll be dining Silverlake style with several Ohio refugees. I know. Anyway, in the video above, JNY Style Guy, Lloyd Boston, works with Carly Zipp from Real Simple magazine to show some super cute party ideas that are all budget-friendly. Still don’t know what I should bring to the Ohio Thanksgiving…any ideas?

New Blog Alert: BottleServiceIsForTourists.blogspot.com
So this blog isn’t exactly “new” but it’s new to me. BottleServiceIsForTourists is a hi-larious blog about the ups and down of Hollywood nightlife. As a newcomer to LA, reading these posts make me chuckle and yet also sort of guide me on places to be scene and NOT be scene. So far, I agree with all the advice I’ve read on this blog. Just sayin…this is my fave article and, for the record, I am not a “weekend warrior.”

Lady GaGa does it again!
So I know I’m way behind on this but I JUST watched Lady GaGa’s new video for “Bad Romance.” Ugh, love. Seriously, there are no words. I can not wait to see her on December 19th in San Diego and then again on December 21st in LA!!!!!

House of Harlow by Nicole Richie for bebe
So I was lucky enough to attend the launch party for House of Harlow by Nicole Richie for bebe last week at bebe’s Rodeo Drive store in Beverly Hills. The event was fab and the jewelry, even better than expected. The best part about the collection is that Nicole and bebe have created a one-of-a-kind keepsake bracelet that is sold in bebe stores and bebe.com throughout December with 25% of sales donated to the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation. Sadly, Nicole was too sick to attend the launch event but I did manage to spot Nick Verreos, of Project Runway fame and Lou Diamond Phillips, who I most recently watched on my guilty pleasure, I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. What did I purchase? The Aztec Necklace in black. Such a statement piece.

Jeannine Morris on E! Emmy’s segment!
So working in the beauty/social media industry, I meet a LOT of people. Most are fairly nice or at least tolerable but I do hold a few that I’ve met close to me and consider them TRUE friends. Jeannine Morris is one of those few! As a former Cosmo editor, beauty writer and founder of BeautySweetSpot.com, Jeannine is a mega force in the beauty world but wanna know how we fell in friendship love? I was flying out to LA to find an apartment, my flight was delayed SIX, yes I said SIX hours and I went on Twitter only to see that Jeannine had tweeted about having a glass of wine in Terminal 5 at JFK. Wait- I was in terminal 5 at JFK! I tweeted back and emailed her and eventually we found each other! How CRAZY is that? Anyhow, we stayed in touch and when she came out to LA to do an E! segment for the Emmy’s we hung out poolside at my favorite spot, The Roosevelt Hotel (we even met Sal from E!, who apparently thought he knew me), and I helped her practice her lines for the segment! I’m proud to say that Jeannine absolutely killed it- flawless. Check out her segment on her blog, here.

Drink a little too much in LA?
So as you know, I’m totally loving the LA life. However, one downfall is definitely the driving situation when going out. It’s been annoying to have to plan ahead who is going to be the sober driver and if I’m driving, I have to stop at two drinks…which for me is pretty difficult, hehe. Anyhow, I came across this amazing (and genius) new company called Y Drive LA. It’s truly brilliant. For only $39 a driver will come and get you, drive YOUR car home and then ride away in his/her own scooter type deal (which funny enough, fits into your trunk. As much as I wouldn’t want to be the poor driver, I feel a sigh of relief knowing that if I DO get a little too tipsy, I can always get a ride home (and my car home safe) for less than $40. Safe and awesome.
