Every once in awhile I meet someone who just get it. Lara came to LA for a work trip last year and even though we only knew each other through social media, she went out of her way to come to one of my charity sales and that made me instantly realize just how awesome of a person she really is. In addition to being a great friend, she started the most AMAZING organization called Share Your Beauty, where you can donate unused beauty products to homeless women and women who are victims of domestic violence.
And, as a bonus, anyone who donates 10+ products gets a $20 credit to PRIV (one of my absolute favorites), the app that gives you your favorite beauty services, including manicures, blowouts, and makeup applications, directly to your location; anytime, anywhere.
Here’s a picture of Lara and the team with all of the fabulous beauty products that were donated by brands, bloggers and friends. Since their launch in February 2014, more than 83,000 beauty products have been donated, thanks to the generous support of individuals, brands and members of the beauty industry.
While the organization accepts donations year round, they are partnering with PRIV and LeSportsac on September 30th to organize a special event for the non-profit, Covenant House. The PRIV makeup artists will provide free makeup applications and tutorials for women getting back into the workforce and LeSportsac is providing bags for all of the attendees. Any beauty product donations are appreciated, as they will be filling the bags with the donated items to give every woman in attendance a gift.
