Fall to Winter Beauty with Target’s Beauty Concierge

This post is sponsored by Target but all products were selected and reviewed by me. All opinions are my own, as per usual.

Because it’s getting colder out and it’s time to switch up your beauty routine for winter…

You guys know that I live in Los Angeles and even though our “cold” is about 60 degrees, I can still appreciate the need to change up your beauty routine during the cold(ish) winter months. And let me just say- it was a windy 61 degrees on my roof when I took these photos and it was COLD, guys. Like, if I weren’t wearing that jacket I would’ve been freezing. But I digress…

I recently visited my local Target (LOVE the West Hollywood location!) to chat with their amazing Beauty Concierge, and she gave me some really great product recommendations to change up my winter beauty regimen a bit. We chatted about my current regimen, my hair/skin type and, of course, what I was looking for in a new routine. To be honest, as a beauty expert myself, I was skeptical about how knowledgeable Target’s Beauty Concierge would be, but I have to tell you how impressed I was with my experience. Not only was she super knowledgeable, but she also seemed genuinely excited about helping me, which is somewhat rare in retail these days. And note, I did NOT tell her I was writing this blog post, so she wasn’t just being extra nice because I’m a blogger!

Here’s what we came up with, and I’m currently loving everything.

Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (photo above): How hilarious is this photo of me just hanging out on my roof with a pore strip on my nose? Fact: I’m obsessed with these. I ONLY ever have blackheads on my nose and these strips have done a great job of clearing almost all of them out. My Beauty Concierge suggested them after asking whether or not I break out and I couldn’t be happier.

Olay Active Botanicals Moisturizing Toner: I’ve never been much of a toner girl since I have dry/sensitive skin, but my Beauty Concierge said she personally LOVED this version since it’s 99% alcohol-free and non-drying. I’ve been using it after I wash my face and, admittedly, my face has never felt cleaner…and yet, it really doesn’t dry my face out at all.

L’Oreal Paris EverPure Blonde Shade Reviving Treatment: As someone who has been dying their hair blonde since 2001, I can speak first-hand to what brassy blonde looks like…and it’s not great. My Beauty Concierge recommended this and said the mask works well at neutralizing any brass in just one use! I used it the same night I bought it and it’s fantastic- you just apply it to towel-dried hair, leave it on for about five minutes and done. My colorist has been telling me that I need to use a purple shampoo once a week and I think I’ve found my winner.

Hair Food Thickening Hair Treatment: Since I have fine hair, my Beauty Concierge suggested trying a new thickening product and she also said she’s been hearing really positive feedback from her clients on this version from Hair Food! The fragrance alone was enough to sell me- it has notes of kiwi and citrus fruits, but the actual product formula also does a great job of making my hair a little fuller, yet not weighed down. I also love that it helps to prevent future hair breakage, which is something we can all use after the sunny summer months (sun = damage to your hair).

Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream: Since I’m pretty much the palest person on the planet (ok, maybe not – but close), my Beauty Concierge recommended this Jergens BB Cream. It not only gives you a little color, but it also helps to blur any imperfections and firm the skin as well…and the product claims to do so in only five days, which is fabulous. You know me, the most impatient person ever.

Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash: SUCH a classic. Since I told my Beauty Concierge that I’ve been working out a lot lately, she suggested using a breakout-banishing body wash (try saying that three times). I’m always loyal to all things Neutrogena and this body wash is fab because it uses salicylic acid to clear out any clogged pores on your back, arms, booty, etc. so you don’t get unexpected zits.

Definitely visit a Beauty Concierge at your local Target if/when you have any beauty concerns or questions- you can find them in the beauty aisle wearing a black apron and carrying a tablet– no appointment necessary. I can’t help but think how HELPFUL this would’ve been when I was a beauty-clueless teenager.
