How To Treat Yourself To A Spa Day At Home

How To Treat Yourself To A Spa Day At Home

Because we all have a lot more time on our hands…

Obviously now more than ever we all need to stay at home. And, of course, also take care of our mental health as our country deals with Coronavirus.  I’ve been working hard to come up with fun/entertaining ways to stay busy (with a beauty twist, of course), and thought that a spa day at home could be a great way to treat yourself AND pass the time 🙂

I tried to feature products that you might already have in your arsenal/are also available on Amazon, since Amazon seems to still be delivering as of this post date.

Other good posts to read:

That said, I’d love to hear what spa treatments you end up doing to feel refreshed!  Tell me in the comments below.

Depending on what face masks you already have at home (sheet masks are also great!), you can pick and choose based on your mood…but this lace fask mask is especially fun and chic AF, in my opinion. Plus you can get it on Amazon Prime (at least for the time being).

I recently also did a post on multi-masking as well!  The mud mask I feature is now officially in the Honestly Jamie hall of fame, just saying.

Dermovia Lace a Peel Black Bamboo Charcoal Peel Off mask: I really love Dermovia’s lace masks; they’re all really easy and fun to wear with no slipping or sliding on your face.  This version, in particular, is made with bamboo charcoal, which is known for its ability to deep cleanse and pull dead skin out from the pores to prevent breakouts, heal blemishes and keep skin healthy and shine free.  It also boasts aloe vera and chamomile for lots of calming.

The Peel Paste is used in conjunction with the black lace compression mask, which fuses the paste to the mask and forces the paste to grip to the skin.  I’m always a little nervous using anything with charcoal on my sensitive skin but I had zero issues with this. And, like I said, it’s just so fun to wear.

Hands

Patchology Warm Up Perfect Ten Self-Warming Hand and Cuticle Mask

If you didn’t already see my post on all the best hand creams for everyone washing their hands like crazy right now, head over there first.  After that you definitely need to add a hand AND cuticle mask into the mix.  My favorite is the Patchology Warm Up Perfect Ten Self-Warming Hand and Cuticle Mask, hands down (haha).

The coconut-infused hand mask is loaded with a restoring blend of fatty acid-rich butters and oils, antioxidant-rich Vitamin E and moisturizing Fruit Extracts, for a self-warming lux AF hand treatment.

Fun fact: this mask uses the same insulation technology as space blankets. The reflective material creates a heat barrier to lock in your natural body heat, allowing the ingredients to penetrate the surface and rejuvenate dry, chapped skin…wild, right?  Your hands will get a super dose of macadamia oil, shea butter and rose hip oil after only 10 minutes wearing these gloves.  Softest. hands (and cuticles). ever.

Hair

Joico Defy Damage Protective Masque

Just like I said in my post about 7 beauty-related things to do while we’re social distancing, you can definitely use your regular conditioner as a hair mask (simply but just leaving it and washing it out later) but, if you DO want a great hair mask (that’s specifically formualted to BE a mask), I also really love this version from Joico.  The Joico Defy Damage Protective Masque is a hair mask amazing for anyone with color-treated and/or damaged hair since it’s formulated for bond strengthening and color longevity and actually helps to rebuild the hair’s resistance to damage.

I swear, after I tried it one time my hair was softer and shinier. And with frequent use you’ll definitely see less breakage (since it also protects your hair from heat styling tools).  You leave this mask on for 2-5 minutes in the shower and then rinse. But I’m not opposed to wearing it longer and even sleeping with this mask in my hair, just saying.

Feet

Barefoot Scientist High Dive Daily Intensive Hydration Therapy

You can’t forget about your feet!  If you haven’t already listened to my podcast episode with Dana Ward, it’s a must listen.  Dana co-founded Barefoot Scientist, the first premium foot care brand. And I am literally obsessed with all their products, not kidding.  You could honestly do an entire foot spa day with their line, but for the purpose of this blog post I wanted to talk about one of my new staples: the Barefoot Scientist High Dive Daily Intensive Hydration Therapy.  It’s honestly one of the best foot creams I’ve used. Ever. Period.  This breakthrough formula combines 15 of nature’s most potent hydrating agents and a delivery system that penetrates deep into your skin to rapidly restore and retain water content and promote elasticity. The cream’s long-lasting effects can relieve even the driest, most cracked and hardened skin, leaving your feet feeling soft and silky-smooth.

Side note, for the sake of social distancing I linked to Amazon but I wanted to also mention you can grab this product (and other BS products) at your local CVS store and now ULTA as well!

Eyes and lips

Airelle Age Defying Eye & Lip Treatment

Obviously the eyes and lips are two totally separate areas. But when I started pulling my favorite products for this post I realized I had WAY TOO MANY THINGS.  Sometimes less is more and so when I tested this two-in-one I knew it would be my winner.  Airelle Age Defying Eye & Lip Treatment treats the signs of aging around the eyes and lips. This lightweight treatment works to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, lip lines and frown lines. It’s perfect to use after your face mask.

I actually really love to keep it in my fridge since the cooling stainless steel roller ball tip will help reduce puffiness in the morning and it’s a great way to start the day.

The body and senses

Bath & Body Works Shower Steamers

Lastly, don’t forget about your shower time.  I talked about taking a hot bath in this blog post but if you’re more of a shower person like I am then you really need these Bath & Body Works Shower Steamers.  I love using the “Energy” scent in the morning since the orange essential oil in them really helps to uplift my mood. (#NotaMorningPerson) Basically you place one unwrapped tablet on your shower floor (for best results, place outside of the direct steam of hot water – learned this the hard way) and then breathe deep.  Each tablet fills your shower with a blend of essential oils and it really is just heaven.

Once you’re out, lather on your favorite body lotion (I’m obsessed with this pistachio-scented body lotion)

I use the “Energy” scent but these also come in “Focus” and “Happiness.”
