Real Talk: The Truth About Fine Hair

hair

I’m constantly preaching about how much I love my hair extensions, but back in January I decided to go au naturale and let my real hair grow out for a bit.  Why? Why would I ever give up long, thick hair?  Well, for starters, after about eight months straight of having the best extensions ever (keratin-tip, I’m telling you), I started to get nervous about how short/damaged my real hair was underneath everything.  Luckily, the keratin-tip hair extension process is pretty gentle (as long as you take care of your extensions) so I really only had about an inch of split ends once they were out…and that’s basically like just not getting a hair cut for that long- no biggie.

Over the years I’ve MASTERED the art of my fine hair and how to beat what I annoyingly ended up with but, hey, I’ve got PLENTY of other amazing qualities, thankyouverymuch.  Here are a few of my trade secrets for fine hair…

3 Skincare Favorites

skincare favorites

We all know one thing: skincare is my favorite.  I love, LOVE testing the latest and “greatest,” especially when a brand comes out with something new and innovative.  I try not to play favorites (ok, most of the time), but right now I’m loving a these three products, and here’s why:

Balenciaga Rosabotanica

IMG_0257

When I first saw the bottle for BALENCIAGA ROSABOTANICA perfume I thought “omg, THE BOTTLE.”  For one, it’s beautiful and I’m a  sucker for packaging, and two, it matches my apartment. Done effing deal.  I’m not a big fragrance girl, as I usually stay loyal to my Narcisco Rodriguez for Her and CHANEL Coco Mademoiselle, but there’s something about this Rosabotanica that I’m really, really into…even aside from the bottle.

7 Weird Purses For Spring

weird purses

I still remember the very first designer bag that I bought myself, Kate Spade, obviously.  It was cheetah print and awesome.  I rocked it with the utmost of confidence even though it wasn’t Gucci or Louis Vuitton like my Long Island cohorts used, but I didn’t care.  These “weird” purses all really resonate with me for various reasons, but the main reason being that they’re AWESOME.  Enjoy.

Honestly Jamie

honestly jamie 2

Well, if you follow me on social media then you’re probably really excited that you won’t have to see any more of my “teaser” posts about my big re-brand (!)…they were starting to even annoy me.  Jokes aside, I’m REALLY excited to share my new blog name with you guys, along with a few design tweaks.  I’m honestly shocked that I’m still even doing this whole blogging thang cause I’m a Pisces, and  whileI have LOTS of great ideas, I’m not always so good with the follow through if you know what I’m sayin’.

But that’s the thing: I started Queen of the Quarter Life Crisis nearly NINE YEARS AGO (yes, in April it will be NINE years) as a fun outlet for myself while working a PR job that I hated.  I was 23 years old and, in all honesty, pretty lost about who I was as a  person and what I really wanted to do with my life (guys, I’m actually getting really teary-eyed right now) and this very blog served as a outlet for me.  I’m so thankful for all of the opportunities its given me and I’m super happy to share with you my new blog name that’s shorter and way more appropriate for a 31 year old, ha.  Of course, I’ll still continue to bring you my honest (sometimes to a fault) opinions on all things beauty, lifestyle, fashion and pop culture and I hope you continue to enjoy reading.

Honestly,

Jamie
