Trying out a new format this week! If you’re not familiar, I started doing The Monday Rundown as a roundup of four things (1 from each category: beauty, fashion, lifestyle, food) that make it a little easier to get through the worst day of the week…Monday. Let me know if you like the new format or if you prefer the old look.
Spent the weekend with the above view. Malibu is truly a gem of Southern California.
I recently took my first ballet class in about three years…and holy hell, am I sore.
Chiptole is probably one of my biggest guilty pleasures and I treated my self to a delish chicken fajita bowl on Saturday afternoon.
I’m not huge into lipstick (I prefer gloss) but when I found out that this beauty was named specifically after my friend Meg, I HAD to try it. And yes, I love it just as much as I love her.
I’ve always had a thing for the combo of black and white when it comes to fashion but this spring, it’s honestly just been EVERYWHERE, which is fab. I had a black and white-themed 30th birthday party, had a mini BFF black and white birthday dinner and, now, I find myself wandering around the interwebs in search of my next black and white purchase…it’s a sickness. Here are my latest favorites:
1. Milly Kiera Clutch: Probably the ultimate go-to clutch that will match almost anything. I need this.
3. Dorothy Perkins Deco Dip Dress: A b&w dress never, I repeat NEVER goes out of style and this particular dress is not only cute…but also under $60. Seriously.
4. Rosegold Zane Woven Booties: At first glance, I had mixed feelings on the heel of these babies…but after a few minutes, I become a fan. I love the woven chevron and would wear these with jeans AND with a bright colored dress.
5. Z Gallerie Zig Zag Frame: My apartment is already very b&w and this frame will fit nicely into the mix, and at a decent price.
You guys know about my obsession with beauty products that smell like food, so it should be NO SURPRISE that I’m clearly excited about the April 11th online debut (in-stores on April 18th) of MAC’s new limited-edition Baking Beauties Collection. I can’t even give an accurate description of the sugary line, because I’m THAT excited. Ok, that’s slightly crazy but I can tell you that it’s a sugary mix of pastels with a face powder that has a cake pattern etched into it. I kind of hate when brands do cool designs in powder compacts because it truly makes me not want to actually USE THE PRODUCT and then I end up keeping it for years and, once again, prove how gross I am. Anywho, make sure you check out the limited-edition collection stat.
I think there’s something to be said when you’re actually at a point in your hair life where you can say “hey, my hair is looking pretty awesome this week” so, you know, I had to share. As you guys know, I’m a big fan of Gavert Atelierin Beverly Hills and lately, I’ve been frequenting Just Extensions, which I can tell you, as a matter of fact, are the two reasons that I’m loving my hair right now. True story.
The awesome Toyomi highlighted my hair to the light (but not platinum) shade that I love, using a technique called Alchemy. Toyomi developed the inspiration for her craft in Tokyo, where the world of beauty is exploding with color and creativity. With this vibrant vision, she took on Beverly Hills working with celebs such as Leven Rambin and AnnaLynne McCord.
As for the fullness and volume of my hair, this is where Just Extensions comes in. You probably read my first post, but just in case you’re not familiar, JustExtensions is an affordable hairextensionsbar that focuses on one thing:extensions. And they have all different kinds, including micro-links, braided sew-in, beaded one-step weft and fusion techniques that range from $100 – $300. If you know extensions, then you KNOW that’s a pretty amazing price.
– Looking at my Instagram photos and feeling so lucky to have some amazing friends and people in my life!
– Trying to figure out how to get my cat, Gemma, to stop scratching my couch. Any ideas? And, yes, I’ve tried buying a scratching post…this is what they do with it.
– Contemplating cutting my hair to this length…but I probably won’t.
There’s nothing more frustrating than having to wait…fact. And, if you’ve been following me on Twitter (and now Facebook!) then you know I’ve been patiently waiting for my new site design to launch! Getting to the point, things happen, e.g. technical difficulties that only coders can understand, so there’s a slight delay in my launch, which sucks. Stay tuned, ladies…patience is a virtue.
