Beauty Products Actually Worth the Money (and that I buy for myself!)

It’s not that often that I actually spend my own money on beauty products.  Sorry, but it’s a true story.  However, these are the products that I just simply ADORE and can’t live with out, free or not.  Watch the video to hear all of the captivating details and don’t forget to to subscribe to my YouTube channel!

Vivicscal Extra Strength: My hair growth miracle.

Yes to Cucumber Facial Towelettes: Perfect makeup cleansing cloths for my dry, sensitive skin!  Seriously, I’m obsessed with these.

Clinque Even Better Makeup SPF 15: It’s a moderate to full coverage (with SPF!) and the foundation also helps prevent new discolorations from forming.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment: I put this on EVERYTHING.  Got a skin issue?  Put some Aquaphor on it, no joke.  It’s an all-purpose skin products.

Moroccan Oil Treatment Light: The new-ish version (for fine hair) is even better for my hair, since it doesn’t weight it down but still smooths and prevents frizz.

Three Questions With Coco Rocha

Coco Rocha is one of those effortlessly chic and amazingly NICE super models that you actually want to be friends with.  I never thought I’d say that about a supermodel…or ANY model, for that matter, but after chatting with the Banana Republic Mad Men Collection (available starting TODAY!) spokesperson, I’m totally #TeamCoco.

Q: What’s your favorite piece in the Banana Republic Mad Men Collection?
A: (This dress here)  It’s a bold statement…you want to be the person everyone’s looking at going ‘wow, where did you get that from?’

Q: What advice would you give yourself five years ago?
A:
Five years ago…that’s not that long ago, but still far enough…I think about being a model and the jobs that I chose, I didn’t have a voice for myself…I think that I could’ve reassured myself that you know what, what you’re doing IS ok, you know what? Go for it.

Q: What are your top three favorite beauty products?
A:
I’d have to say, it’s all makeup-related.  I wear makeup every single day, even to the grocery store, so I’m not that model that doesn’t wear makeup.  I’d have to say eyeliner, you can do a lot with it.  Cover up, because I am very, VERY fair so my freckles come out (she loves L’OREAL Magic Smooth Soufflee) and a good contour cream.

See the FULL INTERVIEW HERE.

Me, in the same dress Coco is wearing…yeah, GREAT decision. LOL.

Prada Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear: Undone Chic

I don’t report details on Fashion Week unless I’m like, REALLY impressed by something.  And guys, I saw photos from Prada’s Fall 2013 show and I LOOOVE it.
InStyle’s Fashion Director, Cindy Weber Cleary, gave us some scoop on the inspiration for the line.

“The models in Miuccia Prada’s sensual, spectacular fall collection looked intentionally disheveled,” says Weber Cleary. “With wet hair, off-kilter layers, and weekend-bag sized satchels, it was as if they stepped out of the shower and had to dress quickly before running out the door.”

And yet, so chic. Walk of shame much?  I feel like I look like this (unintentionally) every.single.day of my life, so clearly, I can relate.  The line features beautiful, rich-looking clothing on models that simply aren’t finished.  Need some inspiration on how to create this look on your own?  Check out this post HERE.  Here are my favorite looks from the collection:

Invisalign: My Results!

I want to start off by saying that I paid for 100% of my Invisalign system.  I’m not affiliated with the brand in any way, so when I say that I’ve been getting TONS of emails and comments on my previous Invisalign videos, you can believe…it’s for a reason.  I get it; it’s an expensive investment, but my Grandfather (who passed away with a full set of teeth, mind you) told me that you should always take care of your teeth.  Watch the video and let me know what you think of my results!  I’m very happy 🙂

Reader Question: How Do I Fix My Color-Damaged Hair?

Question:

Hey Jamie!

I recently got blonde highlights (on my dark brown hair) and the colorist used way too much bleach and now my hair is FRIED.  What can I do to fix the damage while the color grows out?

Thanks,
“K”

Answer:

Hi “K!”

Sadly, this happens more often than you would think.  The best thing you can do is give your hair a few weeks tro recover and, in the mean time, use a hair treatment to help restore the health of your hair.  I really love Fekkai Protein Rx Anti-Breakage Treatment Mask since it’s formulated for brittle, broken hair that has been weakened from coloring, relaxing, or heat styling.  If you’re looking for a wallet-friendly option, try VO5 Hot Oil Shower Works, which is also fantastic…and under $10.

Good luck!

Xo,
Jamie

2013 Oscars Fashion: My Favorites

I’m loving the slight drama of these dress trains…and, of course, the colors are amazing as well.
Jennifer Garner in Gucci Première, Charlize Theron in Dior, Olivia Munn in Marchesa

I’m definitely drawn to sharp details and sparkle, which is why I’m obsessing over these three dresses.  Sure, Salma Hayek should’ve ditched the tiara (WTF) but other than that, the dress is fabulous.
Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen, Naomi Watts in Armani Prive, Halle Berry in Atelier Versace

Special shout out to Jessica Chastain for being able to pull off this amazing Armani Prive dress.  Girl, that color isn’t easy to rock for us pale girls.  She looked amazing.

Vanity Fair & L’Oréal Paris DJ Night Party

photo: Nadine Jolie, me

Ah, awards season. You know how I love thee.  I attended a super fun pre-Oscars party the other night at one of my favorite spots: The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.  Freida Pinto co-hosted the party with Vanity Fair and, of course, L’Oréal Paris.  Here’s how to get Freida’s stunning makeup look from the event:
