L’OREAL EverCream Cleansing Conditioner: I’ve tried a few cleansing conditioners and have never really been that impressed…until now. L’OREAL’s version is perfection. My hair feels clean and moisturized, all in one.
Bumble and Bumble (Really) Thickening Serum: I’ve been using this serum for years and have always been really impressed with the results. My hair doesn’t feel greasy but still gets lots of volume and fullness after using it.
Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum: Hair oil can be a little scary for those of us with fine locks but once you try hair oil, you never go back. I’m way into argan oil for my hair (and skin, for that matter).
Rita Hazan Root Concealer: I like to make jokes about the fact that I have a random patch of grey hair under my side swept bangs which, not so funny enough, are strategically UNDER my bangs. Not so random. But anywho, I like to use this Root Concealer when I pin my bangs back and my greys are exposed. Ah, getting old…not so fun.
Oribe Dry Texturzing Spray: I blogged about this product in my October 5 Favorites, and I still stand by it. It’s fab for giving loads of volume and texture, once your hair is dry and straight.
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo: I don’t use dry shampoo every day, but I probably use it at least four times a week. So, obviously, I’m pretty picky about the brands that I use. Oscar Blandi’s version is awesome. Enough said.
AVEDA Nourish-Mint Rehydrating Lip Glaze: I recently tried out this minty-fresh lipgloss in a beautiful shade of dark red and I LOVE IT. Obsessed. It’s just the right shade of red and it’s super hydrating.
Dia de los muertos cookies: I saw so many amazing dia de los muertos halloween costumes that I was instantly inspired when I saw the cookie version. These are a must-do in the next few weeks.
I’m so into primers these days and, after trying this version from Tarte Cosmetics, I’m totally obsessed. The Clean Slate 12-Hour Perfecting Primer is in the most adorable packaging (obviously I’m already sucked in) and my skin actually feels silky after I put it on. I LOVE that feeling. And even though I don’t have particularly large pores, I do appreciate the fact that this primer really diffuses fine lines and lasts for up to 12 hours…cause really, there’s nothing worse than catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror around 8pm and realizing that your makeup is ALL OVER your face, and not in the spots that it SHOULD be.
I know I’m totally off my game right now with blog posts…but honestly, it just felt a little wrong with everything that’s happened on the east coast. As you all know, I’m a born-and-raised New Yorker and my entire family (BOTH sides) live in the Long Island/Manhattan/Westchester area so naturally, I’ve spent the last week worrying about everyone, and engrossed in social media, where I’ve been obsessing over all the photos of damaged lives. I don’t want this post to be too depressing but the fact of the matter is, New York (and many other areas) is devastated from this hurricane. Thankfully, all of my friends and family seem to be ok and had minimal damage, compared to some, but it’s things like this that really make you stop and think “what if”? Here’s my special Tuesday Web Candy in honor of Hurricane Sandy victims and, p.s., don’t forget to VOTE!
I know, I know…every designer has partnered with a non-fashioney brand but I’m really into this collaboration because one, DVF is amazing and two, I love me some Evian. Diane Von Furstenberg & Evian have partnered to design the latest limited edition bottle which reflects a playful celebration of life and features a nod to DVF’s iconic mantras with “Water is Life is Love is Life is Water is…” which graces the bottle with her own distinct handwriting along with the ubiquitous heart DVF logo in a special hue of red, created exclusively for the Evian collaboration.
The bottle, composed of 100% recyclable packaging, is sealed with evian’s new screw cap design. The DVF Limited Edition 750ml bottle will be available in the US at www.shop.evian.us at $7.99 per bottle.
