I came across this great healthy snack idea that’s not only low calorie (and tastes delish) but also looks super cute at a party. As Saucy, the blogger, says it’s so simple, it’s silly. And since dark chocolate and raspberries is probably one of my favorite combos ever, I actually have fun stuffing the raspberries with the chocolate chips. And, naturally, I eat half of them while stuffing.
Thanks to Saucy for posting this great snack idea!
As soon asFashionista.com discovered the brilliant Tumblr, Burgers and Nails, I was instantly obsessed. A few weeks back, my amazing friend/amazing cook friend Jen invited me over for a backyard BBQ with homemade turkey burgers and even buns from SCRATCH. Yes ladies, she is a a better woman than I cause girl can cook.
I borrowed a fab new Essie color from Jen called “Tart Deco” and we took some pics hoping that I’d be selected for my new Tumblr obsession and my pic finally got posted! Enjoy my nails and turkey burger HERE.
Not gonna lie, I kinda miss New York summers. Why? Well, yeah, I know that is kind of a strange statement since New York is known to be swampy hot and humid but during my last few years there, my summers were filled with crazy fun nights, empty city weekends and, of course, the Hamptons. Every New Yorker wants to get out there on the weekends and even though it didn’t happen every weekend for me, I definitely enjoyed the weekends when it did work out.
Stila just came out with this adorableHaute in Hamptons beach palette and I’m totally obsessed with the colors and their cute Hamptons-esque names like “Sand,” “Route 27” and “Montauk Highway.” LOVE.
Ask any of my friends what my signature jewelry piece is and they would say my “Jamie” name ring. I got TONS, and I mean TONS of compliments on the somewhat-ghetto ring that I bought myself a few years ago after seeing Lauren Conrad’s double name ring on an episode of “The Hills.” But I’m honest, and I have no shame in my game so when people ask me where I got my awesome ring, I tell them “uhh, I just googled ‘Lauren Conrad double name ring’ and I found THIS random site.” $99 for sterling silver and $255 for 14K gold…it ain’t a bad deal. After my Jamie ring became one of my regular accessory staples, I started noticing double name rings everywhere and with some really fun designs and I guess I kind of started a collection, at this point. Right now I’m loving these doozies. (clockwise)
Every year around this time, it hits me (once again) that I am incredibly pale. I spent years trying to fight it, years learning to accept it and even more years trying to find the best products to give me even just a subtle hint of color. Ironically, even at my most tan, I’m still paler than most of my friends but I digress. With every new summer season comes a ton of new “innovative” and “revolutionary” self-tanning products but honestly, sometimes the classics really are the best. Here are my latest faves…
LANCOME Flash Bronzer: This product was made famous in the beauty world by Lucky magazine’s Beauty Director, Jean Godfrey June, and after trying it out for myself a few years ago, I’m totally hooked. You get real, natural-looking color with a subtle hint of shimmer that makes the skin look all illuminated.
Dolce & Gabbana Animalier Bronzer: It’s new, it’s limited-edition and I love it. Obviously. Besides the fact that it’s probably one of the most glamourous beauty products ever, this bronzer actually really is awesome but I can’t lie- I really only bought it because I invisioned myself opening it up at a bar and looking like Sophia Lauren.
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Spray-On Perfect Legs: I used this product for the first time during Halloween (in an ironic way) since I dressed up as Snooki. I was totally surprised at how a-mazing it actually was. My legs looked super tan, smooth and the spray didn’t come off until I literally scrubbed my legs in the shower. I’ve also had this on and dipped my feet in a hot tub and it totally stayed on, which is the true test.
My current “tan-spiration”: Mary Kate Olsen (who I don’t normally think looks very good) looking bronzed and gorgeous in this amazing robin’s egg blue blazer and blonde highlights to die for. I also kind of love her snake bracelet.
It’s summer and, to me, summer means fun and cocktails galore. Chandon is a brand I was just recently alerted to and here’s a delish recipe from the Napa-based wine experts…a spin on the classic mojito! Chardon takes this minty mojito to a sparkling new level with this refreshing summer cocktail.
2 oz. Chandon Brut Classic
1 oz. 10 Cane Rum
1/2 oz. simple syrup
7-10 mint leaves
Juice from 1/4 lime
In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves with simple syrup and lime juice
Add rum and shake with ice. Strain into glass filled with ice
