OPI Touring America Collection

So in the  summer of 2009 I took my very first cross country road trip as I drove from New York to Los Angeles.  I recently got a pitch with OPI’s newest nail polish line, OPI Touring America Collection, and I was instantly taken back to my amazing journey.  The collection is inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage.  Cities such as Baltimore, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, New Orleans, New York City and Philly are represented in the polish and my favorites (Left to right): Are We There Yet, French Quarter For Your Thoughts, Get In The Expresso Lane, My Address is Hollywood (obvi).

The collection isn’t available until August 3rd but definitely save-the-date.

David Yurman Exotic Essence

So I’ve already done two posts about David Yurman beauty products because in all honesty, they are fantastic.  I became obsessed with the body wash a few months back and while I was in New York recently, I smelled my friend April Franzino (from Fitness magazine) and had an “OMG, WHAT is that perfume?!” moment.

April told me that it was David Yurman’s Exotic Essence fragrance, new to his beauty line.  I had to have it.  According to the site, Exotic Essence is inspired by the sensual gemstone citrine and has top notes of sparking mandarin, mid notes of exotic woods (similar to my perfume fave, Narsisco Rodriguez for Her) and dry notes of amber, peach skin and vanilla absolute.  Seriously, if you like oriental/woodsy scents, this is a must-have.

Hair extensions UPDATE!

So back in early January I got my very first set of hair extensions; it’s been about three months now and I’m still totally obsessed!  As far as maintenence and care, I’ve been following all of the rules that the staff at The Doves Studio told me (e.g make sure they’re not sticking together, don’t use too much product, etc.) and I’m really happy that I went with Hair Dreams since there were so many hair extension brand choices and it was hard to decide.  This is high-quality hair people, no one can ever tell I have extensions in!

I did experience about 10 pieces falling out after a month and so I called The Doves and asked if this was normal (it is not).  Turns out pieces do sometimes fall out but since so many had fallen out in such a short amount of time, they wanted me to come in and check them out.  In about an hour The Doves staff replaced the missing pieces and we realized that the hair they were attached to was probably too fine to hold the bond and since I got “touched up,” only one or two pieces have fallen out since!  Success.  I’m going to be majorly bummed when I have to get them taken out in a month or so.  Stay tuned for one more update!

Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica

So after reading about the new Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica moisturizer in Lucky, I absolutely had to try it.  I have super dry skin and so when I read the claims, I knew there was a possibility I had met my new favorite skincare product.  The coolest claim Rosa Arctica makes is that 93% of users said their skin felt “denser and thicker” after use (from a four-week consumer study).

Since recently turning 28, I’m starting to really come to terms with the fact that I will eventually see signs of aging, which I’m not very happy about, and therefore need to start using skincare products that help thicken things up a bit since my skin tends to be on the dryer, thin side.

The “Resurrection Flower,” a main ingredient in the cream, can dry out completely and survive for 31 days in inclement conditions and can be restored with just a few drops of water within a day or two to be fully restored…how come no one ever thought to put this in moisturizers before?!  A jar sells for $60, which is actually a pretty good deal considering how little cream you actually have to use- this moisturizer is thick and very dense so a little goes a long way.  LOVING this product.
