One Bag & Three Beauty Obsessions

So I’m starting a new feature called, obviously, “One Bag & Three Beauty Obsessions” where I’ll be featuring my purse and beauty favorites.  The first is a special batch that I’m especially obsessed with.  Let me know if you agree!

BAG:

BEAUTY:

  • L’Oreal True Match Roller What’s not to love about a paint roller for your face?  Truth be told, I hate most foundation.  This version makes it easy to get that flawless application and yeah, it is that fun to put on.
  • DuWop Reverse Eyeliner – I complain time and time again about my eyeliner running down my face.  And now I finally found a product that not only prevents running by creating a barrier, but it also helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles by plumping them up.
  • LUSH Mint Julips Lip Scrub – Is it wrong that I keep eating this off of my lips?  I can’t get enough of this chocolate and mint sugar scrub.  Seriously, it’s like a snack.

U by Kotex

So I recently found out about this great new campaign from Kotex and I had to share.  After watching this video, I was immediately taken back to my teen years when I basically had to scream in pain to get my Dad to buy me tampons (or I suppose pads back in the earlier years).  It brings up an interesting question- WHY are men so friggin’ scared to touch these things?  They certainly aren’t scared to touch the body part tampons are involved in, right?  Kotex created this great campaign to empower women and girls everywhere to take control of their bodies.  For every person who signs the declaration and joins the movement, U by Kotex will make a $1 donation to Girls For A Change.

Hot Ingredient: Green Tea

So I blogged back in January about all the weight and health benefits of green tea but I wondered how this natural wonder can also help out your skin.  These green tea-based skin products are my personal favorites, and, also happen to be a-mazing for your skin.

Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Green Tea – I’m usually pretty loyal to my perfume favorites (CHANEL Coco Mademoiselle and Narciso Rodriguez Her) but I have to admit how much I love this green tea perfume.  This unisex cologne touts some of the chicest notes including Italian Bergamot, Bulgarian Rose and Smoked Wood.

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens – Blotting papers are an absolute must for everyone’s makeup arsenal.  So mix up a version that not only reduces shine on your face but also includes leaf fibers from the exotic Abaca Tree plant and green tea infusions and you’ve got the best of the best.

St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser – This refreshing facial cleanser is fabulous with 2% salicylic acid and 100% natural green tea…that way you’re not only fighting acne but the green tea helps calm the redness associated with acne.

Celestial Seasonings Decaf Green Tea – Truth be told, my body doesn’t handle caffeine very well.  I’m not a coffee drinker and the last time I had a cup of green tea from Starbucks, people probably thought I had taken drugs.  My Dad actually revealed that he has the same reaction to caffeine and that he’s obsessed with this decaf version.  As always, my Dad was right.

Mother’s Day beauty picks

So I’m a little sad that I won’t get to see my Mom this Mother’s Day, since she’s in New York.  But even though she’s 3,000 miles away, I still have plans to spoil her with beauty products and plenty of everything that she deserves.  My mom will absolutely die for any of these products…and so will yours.

Jane Iredale Perfectly Nude Collection -This really is a great collection and you really get a good selection of product with it!  The eyeshadow kit, lip fixation lipgloss and bronzer are all perfectly neutral shades and what mother wouldn’t love this?

Carol’s Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Duo -You’re probably thinking “shampoo and conditioner as a gift?  Really?”  Well, let me tell you, this duo smells a-mazing…plus, it deeply cleans and moisturizes your hair of daily toxins and product build-up, which brings hair back to its original shiny, healthy state.  A time travel hair duo, if you will.

LUSH Turkish Delight -Your mom will butter herself up with this delightful rose body polish.  It’s super decadent (and also vegan).  I love that this is whipped up with all natural products such as roses, cocoa butter, almond oil, jasmine and, of course, Turkish rose.

Elizabeth Grant Caviar Rejuvenating Eye Pads -What mom doesn’t want to be pampered with caviar on Mother’s Day?  These Caviar-infused Rejuvenating Eye Pads help achieve the perfect balance of nourishing proteins, vitamins, minerals, nutrients and moisture in the skin.

Harajuku Lovers Sunshine Cuties

So back in November, I announced the launch of Harajuku Lovers Sunshine Cuties new fragrance line extension and I finally got a chance to check out a few of the scents.  The verdict?  Amazing, obviously.  Gwen Stefani can do no wrong in my eyes and her fragrance collection is naturally as perfect, but what makes the Sunshine Cuties line even more adorable is their super cute bathing suites and sunglasses.  I die for “Love,” in particular, since she dones oversized shades…oh and who can resist the little black bubble hair on “Baby”?  Mother’s Day gift anyone?

Completely Buff

So I just tried out a new product from New York’s acclaimed Completely Bare Spa called Completely Buff and I looooove it.  This unique facial treatment puts you in control of how much exfoliation you want…you simply scoop a dime to nickel size portion from the vial and mix it in the palm of your hand with your favorite cleanser.  It’s suitable for all skin types and especially great for anyone who has sensitive skin, since you can use as much or as little as you want!  The gentle blend of ultra-fine aluminum oxide crystals produces the ultimate skin smoothing solution.  Word.
