So I read in a recent Us Weekly that green tea actually keeps you slim. Now, I’m not a huge fan of tea but I do like green tea, oddly enough. According to Dr. Mehmet Oz, “research shows drinking three cups a day reduced body weight and waist circumference by 5 percent in three months. Antioxidants in the tea seem to help burn calories and hinder inflammation that leads to obesity.” Really? I’m gonna try this out and report back on results. In the meantime, I decided to useVillage Tea Company Sassy Green Tea with Acaias my tea to test out Dr. Oz’s theory. Stay tuned for updates…
So you may have seen my first “Three Questions With…” feature where I had the honor of interviewing Tory Burch! In this addition, I sat down with an amazing woman, Delilah Rabina. Delilah is the designer and founder of HotBox Los Angeles, student, PR Assistant and did I mention store owner? I’m still in shock that she manages to juggle (and be successful) at all of these things and here are her answers to my burning questions:
What was the final decision maker that really pushed you to start your own fashion line at age 19?
My passion for finding my own style led me to start Hotbox Vintage in 2005, from there my real inspiration to begin a fashion line came from loyalty to my customers who have supported me along the way.
How do you find the time to own a store, run a clothing line and work in the celebrity division of a PR company?
When you really enjoy doing something it doesn’t feel like work; However, when it does come down to getting work done, nothing would be possible without the help I receive from my friends.
What are your three fashion must-have and three beauty must-haves?
My fashion must-haves return to the basics. A great pair of jeans is always a must (I love my DL1961 jeans), a cozy cardigan and accessories area definite must to finish any look. For me, a beauty must-have is sunscreen-based foundation and I never leave the house without my Bloom lip gloss.
So I would say that people tell me how much I look like 30 Rock’sJane Krakowski oh about maybe four times a month and I really do love her makeup from last night’s 2010 Golden Globes. Here’s how to get the look from her makeup artist, Rebecca Restrepo:
“The overall inspiration was old hollywood with a modern twist. She wanted a chic and modern beauty look to match the look of her dress. I started by prepping the skin with a light moisturizer, then lightly applied COVERGIRL Simply Ageless concealer under the eyes using my ring finger followed by COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation all over the skin with a wet sponge. I then applied COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Blush in Plush Peach with my fingers to the apples of her cheeks for a healthy glow and defined cheekbones. To finish the face, I lightly dusted COVERGIRL Microminerals FInishing Veil to set the look and create a soft shimmer look.
On her eyes, I used COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 4-kit in Sheerly Nudes, applying the taupe shade all over the lid and along the lash line to the crease. I then added a touch of the lightest cream shade to the inner corner of the eye for a subtle pop. To add a bit of definition, I applied a gray matte shadow to the crease. For added drama, I lined her eyes with COVERGIRL Line Exact in black. To finish the eyes, I applied two coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume followed by two coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Length for dramatic, long lashes.
On her lips I applied a shear coat of COVERGIRL Lipstain in Teasing Blush followed by COVERGIRL Amazemint Lip Gloss in No Care Bare to soften the lip color and add just a hint of shine. “

So I was lucky enough to get invited to an a-mazing Golden Globes gifting lounge – THE Hospitality Suite by Live Loyal PR and EMC Bowery at the Pascal Mouawad Estate. It was at a crazy amazing house in the Hollywood Hills and I had a great time. Check out my full report on TheLuxurySpot.com. And yes, that IS Angelina “the Kim Kardashian of Staten Island” in the photo with the girls of Jersey Shore.
