So who is Lauren Luke, you ask? She’s the YouTube phenomenon, the self-taught makeup artist that rose to fame with him-produced tutorials of everyday, celebrity and holiday makeup looks. She has 61 million views and 300,000 subscribers, a new makeup line, a makeup book and a Ninentdo DS game. Uh huh, she’s a busy lady. She also happens to be a 27 year old single mom on top of everything else. It’s an incredible, motivational story and best of all, I actually really LOVE her products, By Lauren Luke, which launched in Sephora back in December. What’s next? A US tour, of course. So this blog isn’t exactly “new” but it’s new to me. BottleServiceIsForTourists is a hi-larious blog about the ups and down of Hollywood nightlife. As a newcomer to LA, reading these posts make me chuckle and yet also sort of guide me on places to be scene and NOT be scene. So far, I agree with all the advice I’ve read on this blog. Just sayin…this is my fave article and, for the record, I am not a “weekend warrior.”
So I’ve written many, many posts on Gwen Stefani and her Harajuku Lovers perfume line and it honestly keeps getting better and better. Harajuku Lovers just announced the new launch of Sunshine Cuties – a new limited edition line extension of summer scents, hitting stores in February 2010! They’ve changed up their outfits, tanned (I assume faux tan) the girls up and changed up the fragrances a bit based on each girl’s personality. Can. not. wait. for February.
So I know I’m way behind on this but I JUST watched Lady GaGa’s new video for “Bad Romance.” Ugh, love. Seriously, there are no words. I can not wait to see her on December 19th in San Diego and then again on December 21st in LA!!!!!
So I was lucky enough to attend the launch party for House of Harlow by Nicole Richie for bebe last week at bebe’s Rodeo Drive store in Beverly Hills. The event was fab and the jewelry, even better than expected. The best part about the collection is that Nicole and bebe have created a one-of-a-kind keepsake bracelet that is sold in bebe stores and bebe.com throughout December with 25% of sales donated to the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation. Sadly, Nicole was too sick to attend the launch event but I did manage to spot Nick Verreos, of Project Runwayfame and Lou Diamond Phillips, who I most recently watched on my guilty pleasure, I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. What did I purchase? The Aztec Necklace in black. Such a statement piece.
So maybe you’ve seen all the buzz on the hottest new brand, PH8? The stores are finally launching nationwide and to make this even better, here are two amazing coupons that you can print out and bring in for discounts! 25% off a coat (if you live somewhere cold) and 25% off a super cute Funnel Dress if you live somewhere a bit warmer! Enjoy.
