So my former colleague and friend, Lindsay, started her own beauty blog that absolutely deserves your attention. BeautyistheNewBlack.blogspot.com is an up-and-coming beauty blog because Lindsay is not only a fab writer but also a total beauty insider. She is forever in search of an eye cream that actually works and loves answering any and all questions that you have. Check it out.
So I know it’s a little obvious but I totally want to be Lady Gaga for Halloween this year. Last year, I was Eve (as in Adam and) and part of me also wants to use my Eve costume again since I made it, and it is totally awesome, AND no one in LA has seen it yet. However, this is my first Halloween in a new city…and a new city that apparently may give NYC a run for it’s money when it comes to crazy costumes (enter West Hollywood). Anyway, I already ordered a platinum blonde hair bow on Etsy so now all I need is some outfit inspriation. It’s a little tough with Lady Gaga because I really could just wear anything short and loud, no? Here’s what I’m thinking, after watching four Lady Gaga videos on MTV.com:
Hair bow, check. Big black sunglasses, check. I’m needing black fingerless leather/pleather gloves and might possibly do some kind of lightening bolt on my face. My first thought for makeup is undoubtably Illamasqua. If you haven’t already heard of the line, it screams drama and Lady Gaga. Any ideas for my actual outfit? Animal print? Leather? Fishnets? I need some ideas!
So did anyone see “The Hills” the other night? I have to admit, I was only kind of half-ass watching it but then I happened to glance up and catch Stephanie Pratt’s gorgeous turquoise eyeliner. Who would’ve thought? I actually really like how she lined just the bottom of her eyes with the bright hue and I just might try it out this weekend. My pick? Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes in “turquoise.” What’s fab about Aqua Eyes is that they don’t smudge or run, like most eyeliners do on me.
So I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has a boyfriend box.Every once in awhile, I go through said box and throw out the random receipts, photos, ticket stubs, etc. that I’ve been holding onto as a “reminder” of what once was.God, how pathetic. When I heard about ExBoyfriendJewelry.com, I was elated. Finally, a place where you can actually profit off all your old shit (not that I can actually profit off of an old Beastie Boys ticket stub…but still).
HOW IT WORKS-
Each post/ad is broken down into different categories (FOR SALE, FOR TRADE, FOR GOOD KARMA GIVE AWAY, or GIFTS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN JEWELRY) and broken down by type (rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.).I also love that every item posted has an accompanying back story so that you can learn all the juicy details behind each item. Was it a bad break up? An amicable one? Does the seller want the item out because they just can’t bear to look at it or is it simply time to move on and maybe make a little extra cash in the process? Check it out…it’s actually very therapeutic.
So recently I tried out an a-mazing bra called the U-plunge Convertible, Padded bra by Fashion Forms and I was truly awed.I’ve always avoided buying certain tops and dresses because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to wear a bra with it…and I just can’t do that.My breasts are by no means large but they’re too large to not wear a bra and that sort of in-between actually really sucks sometimes. When I wore the U-plunge bra with a very low cut dress, I still had the shape and padding that I have with my regular bra but I could still wear the sexy dress.LOVE this.
