Stridex Pads For Your Feet!

So I read this awesome post on Glamour’s beauty blog about how a certain un-named celebrity derm revealed that her A-list patients regularly swipe their feet with Stridex Pads. Why you ask? Salicylic acid is a great exfoliant that takes off dry, dead skin AND the pads have an astringent that erases odor as well. It’s a great trick for when you’re wearing high heels OR for those sweaty summer months when you’re wearing sandals and no socks!

DIY: Humidifier

So I don’t know why, but I’m vehemently against getting a humidifier for my room. There really is no logic behind this…I think it’s just pure laziness. For years I’ve been hearing how a humidifier would help with my frequent nose bleeds and even keep my skin fresh and moisturized…yet, I still haven’t made moves. I almost caved when I saw this frog humidifier on Amazon.com. I know, you’re thinking, how baby’s bedroom is this? I can’t explain it…I have a thing for cute green objects, lol.

Anyway, I didn’t end up getting it because I saw this genius article on BellaSugar about making your OWN humidifier…and everyone knows I can’t resist a good DIY!

He’s Just Not That Into You…But I’m Way Into Balmain

So I looooooooove Jennifer Connelly’s Balmain dress that she wore last night to the premiere of “He’s Just ot That Into You.” She wore this look straight off the runway, which is no easy task, AND how fabulously 80s is the wide shoulder/sequins look to boot? I’ll admit it, when the 80s first started coming “back” a few years ago, I was the first to cringe and exclaim “why oh why?” but now I’m totally into it. I’m thinking of digging up my old colored tube socks with penny loafers. Ha, JK.

V-Day (not VD) Gift Guide: “Gimme a Stiffy” hair gel

So what do you get that boyfriend with the weirdo sense of humor? Um…I say go for something sexy yet silly. But then again what do I know, right? Badass Hair, a very edgy line of hair products created by Miami-based stylist and badass rockstar, Scott Fantana, puts a little fun and attitude into hair care this V-day. Personally, I love the name “Gimme a Stiffy” for a dry hair gel…and if you’re lucky, “Up All Night” volume mist.

Book Review: Confessions of a Beauty Addict

So one of my favorite bloggers, Nadine Haobsh, just published her second book, Confessions of a Beauty Addict. I pre-ordered my copy on Amazon but, of course, completely forgot that I did this…so what a nice surprise when I got the package a day after it was released!

If you haven’t already heard, Nadine has an amazing blog, JolieNadine, where she gives honest and straight-forward beauty advice and even gives her readers a sneak peek into her personal life. Anyway, back to book- in Confessions, Bella Hunter gets fired from one of the most prestigious mags in the biz and ends up at the service-book, Womanly World. Pretty similar to what actually happened to Nadine but juicer because there’s also some guy dramz going on. I absolutely L-O-V-E-D this easy, fun and care-free read and highly reccomend it. =)

V-Day (not VD) Gift Guide: The Mix Tape

So as one of the many single New York women, Valentine’s Day isn’t usually a day that I enjoy. However, I am trying to remain slightly open and will even go as far as featuring some unique (and not disgustingly cheesy) gift ideas. The first that I’ve found (that doesn’t induce nausea) is this super cool USB port by Suck UK that looks just like a cassette tape circa 1987. Love it. You can upload your favorite MP3s onto this for a modern “cassette mix tape” for a boyfriend OR even a BFF. $20 at Henri Bendel in New York.
